Regardless of whose currently on top of the depth chart, Hickey said it’s early.
“We have a lot of work to do. We haven’t even gotten to June mini-camp or the preseason,” Hickey said. “But that’s where they’re going to start off. They’ve both had a great offseason and are putting a lot of time in the weight room with our coaches. We’re excited to see where they go from here.”
The Dolphins are still trying to improve an offensive line that has allowed 105 sacks the last two seasons. There are questions again this year.

Not really anything I didn't expect....Turner should be fine...Thomas...eh...hopefully another year and a little better.

As is the way it should be. We drafted them, we should develop them into competent starters. That way we don't have to moan at wasting top end picks on linesmen.

Still don't think Thomas gets it done. Turner I'm looking forward to seeing.

I have high expectations for Billy Turner and am actually a little surprised he didn't play more in his rookie season. I think we will do well as the right guard. As for left guard, I wouldn't be surprised if Douglas ends up winning the job or they sign a veteran free agent at some point this Summer.

I think that just means that they will get the first set of reps on day 1 in the morning session if it is a one a day...

By day 2.... :ponder:

that rookie draft pic might already be ahead in line

I am intrigued by turner. Hope he can be the nasty we need at guard. Thomas I am not sold on. He would have to step up big time.

Thomas is the most under rated player on the team. Not because he's good, but because he's no where near as bad as people think. Sure he got abused at tackle a bit last year, but guard I think is his more natural position. He isn't a good starter, but his athleticism (dude can pull) and versatility definitely warrant a roster spot imo, especially with the questionable depth we have on the team at oline (finally got rid of Garner at least).

Anyone know what happened with Dan Connolly? He made the free agent rounds last month and I never heard if he signed with anyone.

Still FA as far as I know. He will settle for a depth/backup role wherever he lands.

Still unsigned and don't see him as much of an upgrade. We are basically heading towards starting the season with 2 huge question marks and hoping Albert can return healthy. It's not a good situation to be in especially for a coach who is supposedly on the hot seat, but the stance of playing what you have there and at MLB he obviously has input in so....

When you watch Thomas in interviews he just seems like a really nice guy... on the field he looks like he's just going through the motions.. Douglas comes off as hungry and competitive in interviews... on the field he looks like he enjoys moving people out of the way with toughness.

Similar build, but different characters. My money is on Douglas to start, no doubt.

It's both predictable and good that we slot the veterans as the starter to begin the preseason. Rookies aren't ready and if they get complacent it could be disasterous. Plus, every player likes to believe that if he is the best he will play.

Unfortunately, the abysmal Thomas and untested Turner are our veterans. Hopefully Turner makes a leap this year.

I have my fingers crossed but hopefully the Front Office keeps a keen eye out for late cut OL.
