Billy Turner.......????

Everyone keeps saying we need one guard because Billy Turner is penciled in as a starter at the other guard. I've heard people say we can't go into the season with Dallas Thomas starting. I agree that Dalkas Thomas is horrendous but how does anybody know that Turner is any better. Turner hasn't played a single snap in the NFL and everyone is anointing him as a starter. I hope he lives up to the hype and plays many years with multiple pro bowl selections but I need some proof. I love our offseason moves. I think it may be the best offseason I've ever seen for Miami. But this Oline still needs improvement and it's gotta start with the guard position. I don't know if we have an NFL caliber Guard on the roster and that is a problem. Hoping we draft a guard or guards for that matter. I'm concerned.

I dont think we'll be too bad if Turner turns out like everyone is saying. If we play turner at rg and he turns out good we can pretty much play anyone and make them serviceable if we put them at lg between pro bowlers with albert and pouncey.

Turner can't be much worse than Thomas if he even is. He's slated to start this year so the coaches must have seen something good. Every time he went on the field last year he played well and certainly should be starting this year at a minimum

Why is everyone harping on Thomas and not on Turner? Because no one has seen him. Makes him something of a 50/50 prospect.

We have seen Dallas Thomas. Unless he gets shot with a gamma ray or bit by a radioactive spider, he is a walking talking green light for defenders

So, you have more faith in a rookie with no NFL training, sight unseen, than a guy who has been training for over a year in an NFL system, sight unseen?

Turner has all the talent in the world. And a nasty streak. Dallas doesnt play with a nasty streak that turner does. Compare their college tape. Turner will be a great guard

How are Pouncey and Albert supposed to help the LG against a 3 technique?

We can't really could on Alberts either. We don't know when he'll be ready to play and when he's ready to play we don't know if he'll be as good as he was before. I'm concerned about the oline.

As far as Billy Turner...I have full confidence that he will be more then fine at one of the guard position. This topic has been brought up plenty and I have maintained the same thought. He was limited last season due to turf toe and technique refining, but after a year of development including extensive time with Benton I have little worries that he will be a good player for the team.

Couldn't agree more. People need to lower their expectation of Turner, imo, until he's actually faced a few live bullets.
