I have a few of my friends at work attending several weeks of a school on the east coast of Florida. Long story short - they hooked up with someone who directs Dolphin security, and were able to get a tour of the practice facility and spent a few moments on the sideline of the last mini-camp.

One is a Dolphins fan, one is a Bucs fan.

Stated: "Chris Chambers is ripped. His arms are huge and defined. He is real excited of the upcoming year. I couldn't believe how big he was."

Zach Thomas: "We spent a few minutes talking to him. His family lives in Naples (where we live). He was real cool. He is only about 5'9", and looks pretty normal walking around in a baggy t-shirt."

:dolphins: Daunte Culpepper: "He's the REAL DEAL. He was running around and having no problem throwing. The balls he threw were accurate and with zip. He's huge. He's going to be a great addition."

Wes Welker: "He's ripped. He's incredibly fast. He caught everything thrown to him. After practice he stood about five yards from the (automatic football throwing device - where the tires spin inward, you drop the ball, and it fires it out). Those balls were being fired at him - and again, he caught everything."

Joey Harrington: - opening gesture, :shakeno: thumb pointed down. "He looked like he didn't belong out there. He had no zip on the ball, and was not accurate. The balls he threw were five yards in the ground in front, or too high or way off to the side. There was a huge difference watching his throws and Culpepper's throws - they're not in the same league."
*** It was further qualified by the notice of - "some people say that he's new and he has to learn the system. I would understand that but Culpepper is just as new, and had to learn the same system - and seems so much farther ahead than Harrington."

Just a few comments as there's not much going on right now.....

thanks for sharing i can tell chambers is siked for the season because he actually has a good QB.its nice to hear about welker working so hard to.harrington will probably lose his backup job to lemon:shakeno:all weve heard about harrington is not good.i hope lemon gets the backup spot

Sounds like Harrington is not trying to compete, which makes sense.

I'll go out on a limb and say he will have a very good pre-season.

risky pick there RI, i think you may be on to something though.....

The argument that DC has to learn the system is flawed..this is the same system that DC ran in Minny...Harrington was a WCO QB...this means big adjustments to the philosophy of the offenses...I'm not defending him any more than to say that it takes a WCO QB longer to adjust to Linehan's vertical offense than the other way around... Jeff Garcia is a good example...since he left the WCO he hasn't done squat...at any rate, we'll see how things develop in camp in August...

Hmm, Garcia was in a wco in Detroit and still didn't do anything.. I'm not sure if your theory is correct, but it's interesting..I think it takes a while for anyone to pickup something new..As far as throwing, either a qb can or he can't..accuracy is a matter of instincts..

That's a pretty tenuous limb IMO, but I guess we all have our own feelings on what will happen.

We run the same system as the Viks do for the most part.So Culpepper does have the upper hand. The Loins on the other hand run a totally different system then us.Harrington needs time to get to no everything.Im not saying he will be better then Culpepper but i think he will improve with time.

I thought the reports out of camp was that Harrington has alot of zip on his balls. I can't tell you whether he'll be any good or not but I thought his arm strength was very good.

Well I will stay closer to the tree trunk and make another prediction. Cleo Lemon will finish the preseason with the highest QB rating of any QB on the roster. Mark it down, that WILL happen.

I heard Cleo looked better then Joey in camp. Dante does know "most" of our system from his days with lienham. But still, throwing the ball is what a QB does and Harrington should be throwing better.

I know that this is early, but I think Harrington needs to step it up a little...
