Now I'm a huge Syracuse fan, so it pains me to say this.

The loss was 100% Will Allen's fault. On the last TD play, Manning looked over at Garcon/Collier and saw that Will Allen was playing 10 yards off Garcon. Since he had the slot receiver on that side, he audibled to a screen. It was obvious that he had changed the play based on what he saw on the right side. Now, Will Allen has a history of not pressing his man on the line of scrimmage, especially during 2nd or 3rd and long plays. You'd think that when he saw Manning audible to the right side, he would have tightened his coverage. I'm pretty sure he was afraid of having Garcon beat him deep, but Allen is the fastest guy on the team and has good enough skills to compensate if that were to happen. Once I saw that he stayed 10 yards off the LOS, I knew it was going to be a big play for the Colts.

P.S. The main reason Reggie Wayne was ineffective during the 2nd half wasn't because he was consistently doubled, it was because Smith pressed him the entire game and our pass rush didn't allow Manning time to find him once he broke coverage. Why don't our other corners press more???

I agree, it's about time for Vontae Davis to start. Allen's guy was open a lot of the time.

Wow, I really can't disagree with you more. The guy to blame is Gabril Wilson. How many plays did he miss a tackle or leave a WR open, or drop a TD pass?

Doesn't help that Manning was never under pressure.

No kidding. I can't believe anyone can say Allen was more at fault than Wilson or even Crowder with a straight face.

I don't think we can 100% blame one guy, and the days of both corners pressing left with Madison and Surtain (two special guys).

Will Allen is about the only player we have in that secondary who can actually tackle. I thought he played pretty well last night given the circumstances (an excellent offense, WR, QB). He's the least of our problems back there. You can blame Allen for not pressing the Colts WR's i suppose, but at the same time Peyton still had ALL day to sit back and throw the football and tackling was extremely poor once he did.

Gibril Wilson is way more of a goat than Will Allen. The defense has been very poor at tackling thus far this year. No one gets a pass...but Will Allen certainly doesn't get all the blame.

The last TD was against an all out blitz. Will Allen couldn't press his guy because he would give Manning an easy option on the deep ball 1 on 1. Someone on the D should have audibled out of that blitz, but either they couldn't figure it out or the coaches don't allow them to audible.

I didn’t see Will Allen missing all those tackles in the MIDDLE of the field. It’s a death blow to be soft down the middle and we were Charmin toilet paper in the middle last night.

I blame everyone on the defense except maybe Sean Smith. That was just an epic fail of historic proportions last night. I felt like a Bills fan.

How bout Channing Crowder makes a play for once? I dont understand blaming Allen when other guys like Crowder are doing absolutely NOTHING on defense.

1. S: Can Bell & Wilson co-exist? Can either cover?
2. ILB: Can Crowder learn to play defense?
3. WR/TE: Do we have a #1 WR on the roster? Fasano's extension? #2 TE?
4. OLB: Porter & Taylor for now, but what about next year? Wake starter or specialist? Roth extension?
5. NT: Ferguson is getting up there...is Soliai the guy?

1. Yes. Yes. No.
2. If by "play defense" you mean make 7 tackles and punch people, yes.
3. NO.
4. Roth is very sub-par. Jason Taylor - at his age - is better than Roth.
5. PS is a good d-lineman...I think he'll get better.

What about Phillip Merling he gave up as many TDs as Allen did.
