I see most fans and media are blaming the receivers for our weak passing attack...How about the most expensive O-line in the league playing like the cheapest O-Line in the league..

I noticed several times mostly v.s the Jets, Saints, and Patriots that Henne had no time at all to throw the ball regardless if the receivers were open or not.

*Jake Long is not the the pro-bowl "Jake Long" of last season.

* D. Thomas is pretty average in pass protection.

This is like a domino effect....If the O-line is playing below average, the rest of team will suffer as well.

I agree that we need a # 1 receiver, but everything starts up front...

Yes, the o-line has had some problems this year but overall they have played pretty good. However, you can't blame the o-line for all of the passes the WR's have dropped, which is really killing this team.

Our line has been ok. They are not protecting as good as I would hope, but they have not been terrible. The problem is teams are blitzing a lot and either our WRs cannot make a play or the QB is not giving them a chance. Our line should be better, but I wouldn't say they are responsible for our weak passing game.

I'll bet you a dollar that if we had a true threat at receiver, you would see a lot less blitzing resulting in less bodies to block and WAY better oline play! Not to mention the safeties would have to play further back. Did anyone else notice that for the majority of the Pats game the safeties were at 10yds?

Yeh, the oline hasn't been great but not as bad as stated here. As someone else already said...how bout the receivers actually catch the football?

If our WRs and TEs could catch the ball more consistently or just hold onto it and not fumble.....we wouldn't be 3-5. I hate saying we lost games because of 1 factor....but it could be argued that we lost 2 games because of the lack of production from these guys.

One can really look to two active qb's here. Passing success last year for Matt Cassel and Jay Cutler vs their success this year with new teams- new receivers and new O-lines. I think the two are usually completely tied together (wr and ol) but it's just undeniable that our receivers are barely average, if that. I agree with you guys, receivers who can actually get open and make plays make the O line's job much easier, much like a game breaking running back makes them look better. Henne has generally had enough time.

Part of the problem is that our receivers can not get open fast enough on blitzes to provide the QB a target before the blitz gets to him. We need someone who can either get open quickly, or has the skill to go up and fight for it whether he is open or not. I favor the latter.

Our o line has part of the blame, but until i see a o line player hold down or slap a football out of a receivers hands, wr will get most of the blame for why we have lost games.

i have say i agree with every post i have read.the question is how do we fix it with what we have?smiles shoulder is acting up.he has hung in longer than i thought.he could be gone for the season at any time.thomas has hit the wall some.he is getting a taste of a full season.jake looks a little slower in space.i cant figure it out at all.maybe the lifting?he looked quick last year.but after that opening 10 min plus drive last week against the pats. i wasnt looking at the line all that much.i said wow what a drive.

He nailed it right on the head. Other teams also have a pass-game that we don't, when teams play us they have their safeties in our face corners blitzing etc, we can run, we established that, now we need to pass, it'll improve our O-Line play, our running game, and the passing game by pushing those safeties out of the front, like he said, they sit @ 10 yds with us because we don't have a Randy Moss.

Even when henne is out there they play us like were in the wildcat, cause we can't pass. Other teams O-Line look better cause they have less guys in the box blitzing lol

O-line has sucked - last few weeks we have not even been able to run the ball

Was happy to see Ronny brown yelling at Long after he missed a block when he came up short of TD

In hindsight, Clady the guy that the Broncos picked is looking to definitely be better than Long.

I've gotten used to seeing Long outmaneuvered or just plain beaten this year. I think he's already been on the ground at least twice as much as he was in the entire last season.

Thomas - another overhyped training camp sensation. When will everyone learn

LOL This is a joke right? The only reason we have been able to win games is because of our run game. Did you sit down and break down the film of all the games? Do you know if Jake Long has had missed assignments? All it takes is one offensive lineman to miss a block for a whole play to get screwed up and unless you are actually breaking down film yourself you do not know who to blame it on. Trust me I know I played on the college level and I coach ALL on the offensive line.
