BLITZKRIEG

First off, I'd like to say that I was a few minutes late today, and might have missed some early drills. There was also a very nice size crowd on hand today compared to yesterday's session. Enjoy.....
The Qb's started off throwing what I like to call "floater" drills. It's merely just a drop back slowly, and throw a rainbow floater, kind of testing the touch pass skills for the most part. All of the Qb's have nice touch today, and although there's not much to this drill physically, it requires accuracy and the ability to lead the WR. Like I said, they all looked good throwing these passes....
There were then some Qb roll out drills, and some 7 yard turn and catch plays being practiced. During these drills, there's no coverage or pressure on the Qb, so you get the idea. It's not the most difficult drill, but yet another important aspect of any Qb's game....
They all looked good, but WR D. Hagan really stood out to me during these drills. One more thing, WR David Sutton may be another name you hear more of in the near future. He's a rookie out of Texas El-Paso who is a towering 6-6 tall!! He's been making some plays this mini camp, and could stick if he continues to make nice catches. Could be a sleeper WR....
After that, they practiced some shotgun delay handoffs, and some quick tosses. Just like yesterday, there was a lot of offensive drilling going on. I like that because there's more action going on. It was a good day of drilling for the most part, and they looked more focused today in my opinion....
By the way, WR T. Ginn was jogging around along with the guys when they would shift sides of the field. He does have a small limp though....
Here's the play by play. These are 11/11 drills for the most part....
QB C. Lemon - The OL is getting owned on his first couple of drops....
CL - Quick flair out to Brown, for about a 5 yard gain. There was solid pressure in Lemon's face....
CL - Short toss outside to FB K. Eckel, solid gain around the outside...

QB G. Hamdan - Short toss to the outside, much like above....
GH - 10 yard quick turnaround that gets dropped. Nice throw though....
GH - 10 yard cross, great play, 20 yard gain at least. TE J. Peele on the catch....
GH - 5 yard short pass to TE J. Raider over the middle.....
The OL blocked well for Hamdan during that series of plays.....

Qb J. Beck - On his first throw, he goes deeeeeeep!!...there's a man there, the ball is in place, and he drops it in tight coverage!?!?!?. "Almost" a great play. Very nicely thrown pass by Beck on that one.....
JB - Way overthrown on an over he middle pattern.....
JB - Play action, 15 yard out, ball thrown too soon, incomplete....
JB - Nice quick outside throw to RB L. Booker. Good play, and have I mentioned that Booker is looking like he could be a very good pick up in this years draft. He's been flashing his speed / soft hands all mini camp long.....

Back to Lemon...
CL - Way overthrown over the middle.
CL - Short middle pattern to Chambers, only goes for about 4 yards....
CL - 15 yards sideline throw to Chambers, broken up by Allen . Good coverage on that play....
These next drills are basically the 1st / 2nd / and 3rd string teams going head to head against eachother, and this is the best part of the day for me....
I will mention that I noticed C. Liwienski lining up as the 1st team LG today....
CL - Throws a 5 yard completion to Raider....
CL - Pitch to Ronnie, no gain....
CL - Handoff up the middle, 3 yard gain.....
CL - Shotgun, about a 6 yard completion to WR A. Hakim.....
CL - Blitz!!! good protection, 15 yard cross that gets dropped by K. Campbell. Good throw though....

GH - Incomplete 7 yard out....
GH - Handoff to Eckel, about a 4 yard gain up the middle....
GH - Goes deep, but underthrows Campbell, it ends up being a 35 yard completion, but it wasn't pretty. The DB wasn't looking back, and the WR had to fall backwards to catch it....
GH - Shotgun, delay handoff to Booker. Nice gain on this one, Booker is showing his moves / speed here...
GH - Shotgun, over the middle route, nice pass but nobody was within reach of it. Incomplete....

JB - Throws a 5 yard completion on a quick turnaround route....
JB - Shotgun, false start penalty....
JB - Same play, delay handoff to RB P. Cobbs, nice gain up the middle...
JB - Shotgun, protection breaks down, Beck scrambles right looking downfield, throws a 15 yard sideline pass, but it gets broken up. It was a solid attempt on Beck's part to keep the play alive though....
JB - Coverage sack on this one. Nobody could get open for him.....

CL - 6-7 yard completion to Campbell, and then he almost gets his head taken off by Zach....
GH - Handoff, no gain....
JB - Shotgun, pass gets knocked down at LOS....
JB - Shotgun, sack by Taylor. Beck got no protection.....
JB - Handoff to Booker, no gain....
CL - Out of control pass, and the Qb's are now looking very timid while facing the pass rush....
CL - handoff to Booker, no gain....
GH - Handoff to RB R. Perkins, nice gain on the right side...
GH - Throws about 25 yards into the corner of the endzone, the ball is high yet catchable and then gets dropped in coverage by Sutton. Good play all around....
CL - Play action, throws short underneith pass to Brown for 5-6 yard gain....
CL - Nice protection, great over the middle endzone route, and Lemon overthrows him. Poor throw here....
CL - Gets away from a sack, and completes a short pass to Peele, and he gains about 10 after the catch....
CL - Touchdown!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was a great throw and catch. It went for about 30 yards, and it was a bullet thrown over the top of close coverage into the endzone. WR K. Campbell made a great catch here, and the throw couldn't have been better....
GH - Throwaway....
GH - Under pressure, avoided, dumpes off a short pass....
JB - Handoff to FB R. Mauia, he fights for yards, gets a few....
JB - Looks endzone, and overthrows everyone. Good decision facing pressure....
JB - Under pressure again, rolls out, and throws incomplete....
