Blitz ?

First thread, posted couple times today.

Anyways,
Anyone else not like the all out blitz we do. Seems like in games when we do it
that it never works. I know we got alot of sacks as a team, but seems like most
come from normal 4-5 man blitzes.

Think we need much better talent out of our 2ndary in order to
do this but we seem to keep trying. As far as I can recall hasn't worked at all.

I think our makeshift D has done OK, and is def not suited for Saban's all out
Blitz package. I do like the D calls for the most part can't wait till we get the
talent to actually execute.

I think we have to blitz MORE. Against Oakland, we blitzed ALL game and it really gave Collins a hard time. If you noticed today, we got barely any pressure against Losman until the second half. And that is when we turned it around.

As stated before, we did not blitz much against Oak.

Our front 4 got pressure on the QB.

We played more mand and dropped back in coverage in that game.
Sorta like our old D scheme, not the Saban D, with blitz and zone coverage.

But my original topic is the all out blitz, I am not against blitzing but seems on
the all out blitz, 6+ blitzers, we lose out.

I Guess no one has an opinion on this issue?
Anyone think when we blitz 6+ folks that we lose out pretty much every
time?

I would really like to see any stats on this, I just watch the games, not the
hardcore dude that keeps all the stats. Just seems when we all out blitz we
lose out to a quick pass.

one thing I noticed was that the bills stoped blitzing when Sage got in there and I think that's the reason we won.We couldn't solve their blitzes all day and then they stoped and started to play more vanilla and took advantage of it.

i was surprised that we didnt play more zone coverage, after the sucess they had picking on td. i figured with a young qb out there saban may be able to rattle him with some of his exotic packages

we do get burnt when we blitz with a 5-6 man package...you right, its the talent in the secondary that doesnt allow it to work as Saban envisions it. Travis on his 2nd year, and another solid CB next year, FA or draft, and it will wrok better

Yeah, but the safty seems to get burnt the most.

Wish I had some stats but don't sorry. Just workin on memory.

Seems like we need 2 corners to cover zone and tackle good, And 2 safetys to
tackle and cover good. We blitz from both positions and we need them all to
cover on blitzes.

Hopefully we will either get the talent we need or a scheme to
fit our personel.
