Cornerback Bobby McCain was “solid” enough in his start against the Baltimore Ravens that Interim Head Coach Dan Campbell said he will get the call again next Monday night against the New York Giants.
“I would say solid,” Campbell said of McCain’s performance. “There again, they hit a couple of passes on him. Certainly (Matt) Schaub went after him a little bit, but I’ll say it again, the kid, all he’s doing is getting game experience and he’s going to be better for it. He competed. He never got frustrated, as if they’re picking on me and I’m not making plays.
“I mean, he just keeps getting hanging in there like, you know what, I’m going to get the next one. And his mistakes are rookie, fundamental, technique mistakes that can all be cleaned up. And he’ll be better. Just like, DeVante Parker was better than he was last week. The kid is getting better. That’s because he got a full game under his belt last week. I feel that what happened yesterday is only going to make Bobby better as well.”
McCain was credited with seven tackles and one pass defensed against Baltimore.
