No. 715 played out exactly the way Barry Bonds wanted: He hit it at home, in front of the fans who love him.

It just took him a little longer than he hoped it would.

The San Francisco slugger moved past Babe Ruth on the career home run list with a mammoth shot Sunday, and now stands behind just one person.
Hank Aaron owns baseball's most revered record with 755 homers. And so the debate begins: Will Bonds stick around long enough to break it?

"If you keep playing long enough anything is possible," Bonds said, wearing a new 715 shirt and cap. "I'd like to win a World Series and be home run king. I'd like to do both. I would take a World Series first."
Bonds' latest milestone - a mightier homer than No. 714 - was a 445-foot, two-run shot to center before a sellout crowd. The homer came on the last day before the Giants begin a road trip to Florida and New York.

The question I want to know is why the guy who caught the ball was buying a hot dog instead of seeing bonds hit. It was fate for him to get that ball.

Hey Chump go buy a hot dog. You wont regret it.

The least celebrated milestone ever for the biggest whiner ever. I'm glad there was more important events to celebrate than Bonds tarnished number surpassing the Babe's.

fittingly, the national radio feed that they pre-empted all normal sports talk stations with experienced mic failure at the exact instant the announcer said "and there's a drive deep to ... " (dead air for about 15 seconds) ... they've been talking about it all morning on ESPN radio... classic...

I don't believe in the asterix, despite my opinions that Bonds didn't earn it legitimately. I think it should be left up to the fans of the game to determine that for themselves.

congratulations Barry, for not breaking any type of record.

As bad as this sounds I was hoping he would break a leg and retire before he hit 714 and the same with 715

If anyone DOESNT deserve it than that man is Bonds, as a person, and as a cheater

First off, I hate gettin into Bonds debates, but if any of u all have ever played baseball, u would know when it comes to homeruns, strength is only part of it, u need vision more than anything else, and Barry has that. This man gets nothing to hit half the time he is up there and still finds a way to hit 50+ homers, thats insane. Also I wouldn't dream of putting an asterisk next to his name. Even if he did use supplements, they were not illegal from my knowledge until recently with the whole McGwire thing. Also Barry as never been convicted of anything, give the guy a break. I think more than anything this is 2 things. Partly race, I mean its not as big of an issue today than when Hank Aaron did it, but it still tickles a few fans to see a black guy surpass the almighty Ruth . . but more so a black guy, who as been as a jerk in many circumstances . . from media to fans. This steroid issue is just the icing on the cake to enforce the negativity around Bonds. I mean I'm not in denial, I'm not gonna say he didn't use supplements, I have always thought he was on something, because the guy is huge, but give the man his props and we can argue it with our kids and our grandkids.
