Boom, Bust and Breakout Dolphin for 2020?

He went to a special Oline camp held by some 3rd party trainer.

Has been doing extra workouts etc.

Not to mention, he improved throughout the season. I think he is gonna play well for us this year.
That’s right I remember the camp in Arizona..

I dont think he’s as good as Kindkey but possible backup imo

Boom - Howard will stay healthy this year and bring the BOOM...
Bust - I would say Ballage but in my mind he wont make it out of camp. I'm going with Grant. Speed wont save him through the season.
Breakout - Christian Wilkins will be a monster in his second year on the team.
Ill add (Just cause I can)
Rookie Sensation - Brandon Jones is going to shine.
The more Games I watch, the more I read, the more I like Brandon Jones

Boom: Mike Gesicki Showed what he could do last year and I predict he will end up being a top 10 TE next year

Bust: Robert Hunt. My least favorite draft pick this year. Was disappointed we took him when there were better linemen on the board

Breakout: Michael Dieter. Wisconsin has a history of producing quality linemen. He will live up to his pedigree and prove that he belongs as a starter. I actually think he's better than both Flowers and Kindley.

Honorable mention goes to Zach Sieler for breakout. I liked what I saw from him last year. He seems like one of those diamond in the rough type players

I'm curious to follow up on your evaluation's. Which games were you most disappointed with his performance so I can go have a look and be more informed?

Boom: Draft pick Tua
Offense Bredia
Defense Lawson

Bust: Draft pick Jones
Offense. Dieter
Defense. Baker

Breakout: Offense. Preston & Gesicki
Defense Needham & AVG

great thread, I’ll go one for offense and one for defense.

Boom: Howard becomes a 1,000 yard back once again and Flo learns from the mistakes he made with Baker which leads to a pro bowl appearance.

Bust: Fitz turns back into a pumpkin in the early to mid season leading to a playoff push with Tua. Bobby McCain returns at FS and has a very predictable season of blown assignments, slow reactions, and missed tackles.

Breakout: Karras has a good season leading to a sizable multi-year contract and Weaver collects 5 or more sacks as a pass rush specialist.

Do you know what one of the worst things that could happen to Finheaven is? Fitz starting the season and leading us to a 5 or 6-0 start and Flores not fixing what isn’t broken. Despite the success of the team, which is the most important thing after all, this place will be going bananas. That would be fun to watch although I realize it’s not gonna happen. Don’t deny that die hard Dolphins fans would be mad in this scenario and absolutely dying for Fitz to fail. Sad really!

some might but I’m not one of them. I want this team to win, period. If that means fitz starts all 16 and Tua redshirts, I’m completely fine with that. Let him completely heal up while our online gets reps and builds chemistry. It’s no secret that I’m not completely sold in coach Flo. I’m optimistic but for everything he did right there’s something he didn’t. So to say that he can’t fix things that were broken, or at least mishandled, is short sighted. Baker is one of those things as he definitely regressed. Regardless you are right that others On Finheaven may melt down if Tua doesn’t start before mid season.

Boom: Raekwon Davis - His pass rush production in college was pretty disappointing. That being said he graded out as an elite run stuffer each year at Alabama. He is a guy that will improve the rest of our front seven buy anchoring the LoS.

Bust: Xavien Howard - Reoccurring knee injuries have caused him to miss significant time in his first 4 years. As much as I want him to return to all-pro form, history suggests it is more likely he will end up on IR at some point in the season.

Breakout: Kyle Van Noy - This was a hard one for me because I believe there was more than one choice. I think Van Noy’s familiarity with Flores will pay immediate dividends on the field. With an irregular off-season due to the COVID-19 restrictions I think he will be the guy who helps put a defense featuring tons of new faces together.

Even 4-2.

Does Flores pull the trigger on a switch at QB, if we are playing well, and in the playoff hunt going into mid November?

One thing I’ve found very interesting is the varying opinions of Xavien Howard. Some like me have him as a boom I’m poised for a breakout year, where as a lot have seem to given up on him and feel he’s too injury prone. I totally understand both sides and the NFL is a what have you done for me lately league. But one thing to remember Xavien Howard probably could have played last year, he didn’t suffer a major injury, but the season was lost and they wanted to be extra precautious and protect their long term investment

Boom - Jakeem Grant, on the condition that Tua starts, if not then I like Shaq Lawson.

Bust - Michael Dieter

Breakout - Raekwon Davis, he reminds me too much of Daryl Gardener.

Boom - Devante Parker or X (Having two corners that can play man coverage with the best of them is so exciting)
Bust - Jakeem Grant or Albert Wilson
Breakout - Jerome Baker, Mike Gesicki
