Boomer,

I am a Moderator on the Fin Forum and have enjoyed your draft commenting for years, you guys are the best at grading who the fins will draft....It is terrible all the people here blasting you guys, unbelieveable....I guess they expect you guys to be perfect.

One question for you, can you tell me the centers in this draft you think the fins might be interested in and what you think of their abilities...

BOOM, How high are you on Brady Quinn? And, are you worried that if Liverpool plays AC Milan in Athens, that Nesta will shut down Stevie G.?
 
Nesta will never shut down Stevie G. If they play AC I'd expect Nesta to have his hands full with Bellamy and Crouch.
 
Then AC will have to send GATTUSO to hold down Gerard! Love to trash talk, thank you for your time.

It's cool man, I'm praying for a Liverpool, AC final. I hate Man Utd and Chelsea to my very core being an Arsenal fan.

Hey Bob,

Thanks.

You're looking at Kalil, formerly coached by Tim Davis at USC, who's now Houck's assistant. Very tough, aggressive, mobile, but can he anchor? Unlikely he'll be there at 40. Josh Beekman is a BC guard, who's played OC and who some people think can be a full time OC. Pat Kirwan at NFL.com has him as his number 1 mike man. Strong, consistent, he has excellent technique, but struggles at the 2nd level a little. But he looks like a guy who could start for a decade at either spot. Samson Satele is a very good pass blocker who has some issues as a run blocker, mainly because of the system he played out of at Hawaii. He's moving up and Hud Houck ran the Warriors Pro Day. Doug Datish is a guy I really like. Just played a year at OC, but played at G and then at LT in 2005, but his domination of Alan Branch was a real eye opener. Leroy Harris is a poor man's Beekman. Not mobile, but aggressive with solid hands. Andy Alleman is a guard at Akron who some think might sneak into round 1. A number of teams think he can play OC. Miami has a strong interest, based on his interviews. enoka Lucas is a really good kid, very solid technically, but a pretty marginal athlete who's going to struggle at the 2nd level. Scott Stephenson might interest Miami and especially Houck who has a penchant for linemen who played on the DL. He's raw but with a nice upside. Drew Mormino played alongside Joe Staley and has a late round shot. He does the little things well - technique, hands, base, etc. And Kyle Young bears watching. Highly rated as a senior, it all went wrong this year and his embarrassing pro day was the final straw. Seems as though he's started turning it around in the last month and we bothered to go and see said pro day and seemed interested in him. In shape and motivated, he can be a monster.

Show, he's my #3 prospect in the draft, I think he might be the best QB since Carson Palmer to enter the draft and the most prepared since Peyton Manning. I think if Oakland take Calvin Johnson, then we have a legitimate shot at him.

And why would I be worried about Nesta. He didn't shut down Stevie G in Istanbul 2 years ago and he'll hardly see him anyway as it'll be Gattuso and Pirlo who will try - in vain - to stop him.

I was at that final and if we meet again, it'll happen again.

Boomer, are you worried about Brady's alleged accuracy issues? I've seen him compared to Peyton Manning and Joey Harrington, so the opinions are all over the map.

It makes me nervous to pin our hopes on someone with this divergent a rating. Then again, Marino had various knocks on him coming out, and I think that one worked out okay. Of course, so did Todd Blackledge. I guess QB really is a crapshoot.

What about Quinn makes you so confident, besides his mental aspect which is clearly his strength?

You worry about all players, especially QB's. I think some of Brady's accuracy issues - and they're really overblown - comes from his set-up. Occasionally he won't step into a throw or he won't ground his feet correctly. Look at Trent edwards. He has a similar issue with his footwork, although Trent jumps into throws a little. Brady has a tendency to shorten his follow through when he doesn't set up properly, but it's all workable. When he's on the move, he will occasionally not square his shoulders to the target, although I think he is a very good QB throwing on the run. Looking back at the games, it seems he's much more comfortable - as you would expect - thowing on the run to the right side of the formation, as the set up is easier.

Bottom line is that he has the mentality to work through those issues and continue to get better.

What makes me confident? I've seen probably more of him than any QB in recent memory. I though Leftwich and Roethlisberger were great, but to my mind, Brady is stronger. I think he's a better athlete, more committed - taking NOTHING away from the other two - can make all the throws, is a leader, a hard worker and has worked out of a pro style attack. Are there issues? Yep. Am I concerned? Nope.

I just hope we get a chance to pick him.

It is greatly appreciated....I can tell when people watch film for themselves, and you guys do, and do a great job, hopefully others will see that as well and stop relying on what they hear from every web-site....

"In vain"? Come on Simmon.....are you betting agaisnt Italian defenders?....:wink: I actually don't know that Milan can win that match but I can't believe that anyone would underestimate an Italian team when it comes to defence......as far as Nesta, when healthy he's the 2nd best defender in the world(Cannavaro)....having said that,I don't see us winning Euro 2008 at this point.....just my 2 cents.btw mate....2 days till my wedding and we're gonna play Crazy Train as they introduce us......:buddwalk: :rawk: :guitar: :rocker:

Dan Mozes is another guy I forgot, from West Virginia. If you had the pleasure of watching Steve Slaton the last 2 years, you will know all about Mozes.

I'd say leading 3-0 at half time and then ending up losing, in the biggest game of your life, probably rules out Italian defenses.

Or how about Roma conceding 7 against Manchester United?
