Am I on speaker phone?
1. Henne good ... Defense bad? Wait, what? Who saw that coming? This better be a wake up call for Mike Nolan and his defense. Get Vontae back on the planet earth, figure out how to cover TE's, and figure how to handle the no-huddle. Because until we do, everyone will use those things against us.
2. Tom Brady is to Bill Bellichick as Darth Vader is to The Emperor (and Wes Welker MAY BE Bobafett, I'm not sure). The point is, it's the first game of a long season, I don't think we should throw ourselve's into the belly of the sarlacc just because Miami lost by two touchdowns to the most formidable force in the NFL galaxy.
3. While I'm not saying Marc Colombo is great, contrary to popular opinion, he isn't the worst lineman ever to start at right tackle. He certainly isn't the reason Miami lost.
4. We have a legit threat at tight end, his name is Anthony Fasano. Dude was balling last night. If he can keep having games like that, he'll be getting mentioned with the top TE's at the end of the year. That's a big IF though, because the key for him is consistency.
5. Yes it was a dissapointing loss, but there is alot of good to take from this game:
- we don't play the Patriots every week
- the offense looks pretty damned good for being brand new (and so crappy last year)
- Chad Henne looked like a top ten QB against the possibly best team in the NFL.
At this point, the Miami Dolphins (and their fans) have NO CHOICE but to pick themselves up by the bootstraps, figure out how to fix the defense, and carry the f*ck on.
Go Dolphins! (damn it!)
