Receiver David Boston, who is struggling on his surgically repaired knees, didn't catch a pass Sunday and has just three receptions for 26 yards in four games.

"It wasn't because [of his knee],'' Saban said of Boston's not having his number called. "The nature of his problem is something that isn't going to go away, so it'll be how he can manage and how we can manage to keep him healthy and ready to go.'' ...

It wasn't because of his knee...?

I don't know what he's referring to... does anybody know what this means? Attitude or behavioral problems possibly??

How can you HONESTLY tell me this man is on steroids?!

It's probably withdrawal from roids. Ever been on a medicine for so long and then stopped? :chuckle:

i think its his playmaking ability.... he just doesn't have it anymore.

did anyone watch him running downfield? he is so big he can't get separation.... he obviously doesn't have the speed anymore. If you don't get separation, how are you going to catch passes?

my guess is confidence. He lost his confidence a few years ago when he first got injured. After major knee injuries you just don't have the same confidence to make your cuts and put all your pressure on it. He is probably physically fine it just is a matter of mental.

it must be, or else they wouldn't be keeping him around...

Nothing in that suggest it's mental. If it was he would be gone. it's obviously a physical thing, note how he says"manage to keep him healthy"

what sort of physical ailment cant be healed, yet still allow him to play?

as saban said, its not his knee. what else could it be? could it be internal, something to do with an organ-kidneys, liver, intestines?

Its probably not the structual soundness of the knee since Saban stated the knee is ok. But basic swelling and soarness, that needs to be rehabbed constantly to keep him effective.

Just guessing but I would say definitely not physical, then it would have to be mental. They have not given up on him yet, so they must see something in him during the week that we do not see on game day. Hopefully like the rest of the team, it will just take a little time to come around and gel.

"The nature of his problem is something that isn't going to go away..."

No doubt: It's the quarterback being inept to throw the ball to him.
