Klis also reports that the Broncos have trimmed the list of seven finalists to five.

The final five are Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, Cowboys offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, and Buccaneers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris.

Out of the running (unless each of the other five say “no”) are Broncos offensive coordinator Rick Dennison and Dolphins assistant head coach/secondary Todd Bowles.

Bowles is still a candidate for the Rams and Lions job though. I would say it is very unlikely he lands a head coaching job this offseason. But he will get one sooner rather than later.

Good! Not that I don't want him to get a better job, just that our secondary improved greatly over the year. I'd like to see what he can do for us with some better talent.

Just me being selfish..

Interesting... It is probably a good sign when your secondary coach is being looked at for a head coaching job.

Who the hell needs to be a defensive coordinator anyways? if you know the secondary, you know the team. lol.

Seriously, I am glad that our staff is showing so much promise that other teams are jealous.

Being a coordinator is no longer a needed aspect of getting a head job. Cam Cameron was a coordinator and it didn't work out. Sparano was the Assistant Head Coach/Line coach for the Cowboys. Sean Payton was the Assistant Head Coach/QB coach before he got the Saints job. Zorn was a QB coach before he got the Redskins job. John Harbaugh was the Eagles DB coach. So on and so on.

Bowles was mentioned before this season as a potential future head coach. His Parcells connection will also go a long way in helping him. This is the first year he has interviewed for a NFL head job. I think this is a test the water year for him. I think he gets a head job next offseason or for the 2011 season.

interesting list for the Broncs HC job. It's a very attractive position with the talent on offense. Now if they can get/develop defensive talent.

If Raheem MOrris gets that job the Bucs will blow a gasket, they have refused to let him leave to be DC in the past because they wanted him to replace Monte Kiffen. Kiffen is leaving this year, and before Morris's first year as DC he might be a HC.

Common theme though is all the coaching candidates are young (Spags and Frazier are 49)

Interesting Note, Parcells almost hired Leslie Frazier as our HC before we interviewed Sparano because of how impressive an interview he was.

I'm just glad Sparano's our HC and that we have a nice group of coaches to help him out

Ozzy rules!!

I hope he sticks around for a little while longer. I want whoever we get for the secondary to be coached by Bowles for a while before he gets his head coaching gig somewhere. It's not like ANY secondary coach can take Andre Goodman and turn him into what he turned into in the second half of the season.

Offense really isn't their problem, so I could see them going with a guy who has experience on D like Spagnuolo or Morris. Garrett is an interesting choice, but I can't see him getting that job.

They probably should have hired a GM first too. I'm glad Bowles didn't get it, just because he's done a great job with the secondary this year, and I'd like to see some consistency carry over to next season.
