I think this will backfire bigtime! Boyer is out on an island now without his buddy Flo around to bail him out. I don’t see Boyer being here after next season.

McDaniel said in the presser, and during different interviews, that he is a coach first and foremost, for all 22 on the field. I think he will have his input on the defensive side of the ball, so I doubt Boyer will be left alone if things were to go sideways.

Ya but McDaniel is an offensive guy just like Flo was a defensive guy. My guess is he wants to focus on the offensive staff for this year and maybe will focus on revamping the defensive staff after next season depending on how they perform.
 
Hard to fully access any move without knowing what it looks like behind the scenes. Maybe McDaniel really wanted Fangio or someone else but then he talked to a lot of players that said they love Boyer and want him around. Who’s to say. And we know McDaniel several times stated that our defense was very good last year so maybe he just doesn’t want to fix what ain’t broke
 
Yeah im sort of bummed, i hear he was more of the one responcilbe for the defense the 1st 7 games. Rumor is it was the defense backs coach and flo who were most responcible for the turnaround. My guess is Fangio turned them down so they just stuck with what they have.

Yeah-I was wondering if McDaniel got the pulse of some of the defensive players. It certainly sounds like something he would do...
 
Well we could be the Houston Texans and not intending on hiring a defensive coordinator because the head coach is going to call the defense, but they may just title somebody that for this season. That would be like McDaniels saying I'm not going to hire an offensive coordinator or have an extra set of eyes to help me, that franchise it's a lot more of a dumpster fire than us, so it could always be worse.
