Pick #1.
Jake Long
One of most glaring needs is the O-line and the tackle position. If we could get a pro bowl left tackle while shifting Vernon Carey back to right tackle, we'll have the blue prints for a top tier (young) offensive line. He's the best lineman in the draft, and the position is well worth the ridiculous money this pick is going to cost us.
We can afford to pass on the quarterback position if we solidify our line. If the 08-09 season goes poorly and we dont find any surefire starter at Quarterback, we can draft the top rated guy in 2009 and bring him into a team with one of the best offensive lines in the league.
We also shouldnt pay $40million to Chris Long when (a) he's not even the best player at his position (b) the position is not as big of a need as we have on offense. If we are going to draft defense, the best two players available are Vernon Gholsten and Sedrick Ellis.
Pick #33
Quentin Groves
We need to bring in some new blood for Pash Rushing/Sacks. Jason Taylor may very well be traded, and if not he's still on the downside of his career. This kid could be draft as high as the top 15 and not much lower than 33. However, if he were available, I think he'd be the most valuable pick.
Curtis Lofton
This guy is one of the most under-rated players in the draft. Extremely intelligent, character guy, team leader. Would be a GREAT pick. He's everything Channing Crowder is over hyped to be
Reggie Smith
One of the best all around defensive backs in the draft. Could play cornerback, could play safety.
Players that I like that wont be available at #33
Aqib Talib (CB) Kansas
Limas Sweed (WR) Texas
James Hardy (WR) Indiana
Dan Connor (LB) Penn St
Devin Thomas (WR) Michigan St
Pick #57
* Any of the previously mentioned players would be AWESOME.
Tavares Gooden
Local Miami Hurrican linebacker, shouldn't we finally draft one of these guys?
Tracy Porter
Fred Davis
Pick #64
Jonathan Goff
Red Bryant
Andre Caldwell
Pick #96
Ahyte Rubin DT - Iowa State
Dwight Lowery CB - San Jose St
Paul Hubbard WR - Indiana
Jordy Nelson WR - Kansas St
