Im willing to take the critisism, but i want to see what you guys would think of Brad Johnson. Yes he would only be a stop gap, but a better one then Frerrote dont you think? He took a sub-par Vikings team to a 6 game winning streak. Draft Cutler and play Johnson for one year. How long has Johnson been in Minnedsota, If this wasn't his first year, he would know Linehan's system.

Please critize or give me any further ideas, i just wanna see how everyone would feel about this.

No i don't think he would be an upgrade over frerrotte. Frerrotte already knows the system and has developed some chemistry with Chris Chambers. If we get a QB it should be our franchise guy.

Yea i couldnt agree more. But you saw what Johnson did with the Vikes. He turned that team around. So why not draft Cutler and go to Johnson

Im tired of saying this, but any QB can learn a system over the offseason. It isnt a big deal like people here make it out to be.

It would've been OK last offseason. This one may be too late for Brad.

Yea, I really wish we had adressed the QB more last off season. The rookie class was not very QB heavey so we couldnt go via draft. But possibly a F/A signee.

I couldn't agree with you more! It's so pathetic to listen to people excusing Frerotten and his lame excuse for being an NFL QB by saying "He Knows The System". Give me a break!!! This isn't rocket science, a player will "learn the system" before he steps foot on the field in the first regular season game. I have never heard around the NFL this lame excuse except here in Miami, cause that was Linehan's pitch to get his loser friend a job this past year. The press ran with that statement and people bought it. He is ranked 27th or 29th in QBs this year, and fans actually think this is adequate for next years starter??? WHY??? He played a horrible game against Tenn except for ONE quarter, and this makes him have "better chemistry" lately with our receivers??? WHAT??? Saban drones are the ones buying this crap and being delusional that Gus is even adequate to be on ANY NFL team!!! Id Miami were to release him this coming year - I want to see what team is gonna pick him up!!! He's running out of friends to find him work after he leaves here, so he's screwed!!!

You really expect a rookie QB to be successful his first year?

Brad is the same age as Ferotte and has always been better. His QB rating is a full ten points higher for his career. Almost SEVENTEEN higher this year.

Brad would most certainly be an upgrade. Not my first choice, but a big step over what we have.

Ofcourse Johnson is an upgrade over Frerotte, just about anyone is. Johnson is a really good veteren Qb, he would be great to have for a year to start then as a backup. Something like Kitna did a couple years back with Palmer.

Minny is not going to give him up. Culpepper has proven that he is prone to injury, and (assuming he stays in MN) they will need a good backup, which they have. I expect them to offer him a new contract to keep him around.

As for the question, I wouldn't mind him here at all. I was hoping that he was one of the vet. QBs we would have targeted before the season.

Yet another "let's replace our stop gap with another stop gap" thread. And this stop gap is a horrible fit for the offense due to his lack of arm strength.

What's next? A thread about getting Todd Bouman to be the next stop gap quarterback?

Well that stop gap has a superbowl ring and has started within the last 5 years. Although I agree I want a real Qb and let the stop gaps get signed by other teams. We are a winning team the time for stop gap is over.

Johnson played for Linehan in Mini also no?

But I would stay with Gus at this point.
