The Miami Dolphins made a deadline trade to acquire Bradley Chubb believing the edge rusher could push the defense to new heights for a playoff push.
In six games in Miami, Chubb has generated 2.5 sacks and 12 tackles with 21 total pressures. The 26-year-old, who inked a big new contract with the Dolphins after the trade, knows he can do more.
"I want to be more dominant," Chubb said Thursday, per the team's transcript. "I want to be taking over games more, and that's kind of the reason they brought me here is to do that -- to help this defense take it to the next level. I feel like yeah, we took it up a notch, but there's a whole 'nother level we could take it to, and I want to be the catalyst for that."
Since Chubb joined the Dolphins, Miami has allowed 30-plus points three times (Chicago, San Francisco, Buffalo), including twice during their three-game road losing skid.

I hope so, the team needs it.

"more dominant?"

I admit I didn't watch any Broncos games, ever.…but I don't remember Chubb ever being mentioned as "dominant" at all.

Hopefully he can at least do more.
Same here, phillips has certainly upped his game, chubbs turn now. If this team is going to get into the playoffs and make some noise, we're going to need our D to play better.

Hopefully he can try a new pass-rush move other than running to a spot deeper than the QB’s drop. That one hasn’t been working.
To his defense it seems like a lot of teams are definitely scheming him out of games and it’s freeing up Philips one on one.

Philips has pretty much been unstoppable since Chubb was acquired.

After watching the Chargers game, I'm not too confident in the defense. I know Herbert was really good in the game, but even when the pass rush showed up the secondary couldn't cover.

Young players are getting experience so there's a positive. But this decimated secondary is overmatched every week.

At least the Dolphins offense is formidable.
