Bradley Chubb emerging as ‘another coach’ in second season with defense

Very very talented player, like Von Miller esque type movement and explosiveness coming out of college, but for some reason hasn’t put it all together

I hope his first step is quicker than what we saw last year. He was ok and the pass rush improved overall once he got here, but his quickness off the ball was very meh and really surprised me.

Painfully slow with lots of critical missed tackles. Never been more upset with Grier in my life. Chubb needs to play MUCH better this year or we threw away another first round pick and stupid amount of cash. Hopefully last year was an aberration.

I don’t need him to be a coach....I want him to be the player he needs to be
I think that’s quite a reductive way of looking at things.

A big part of the impact we saw from Tyreek and Armstead was their roles as leaders and culture setters.

If Chubb can have a similar impact of the defense that’s a good thing.

that's all good and dandy but HE needs to focus on playing better. The other stuff will come if he plays well.

Overall this is a positive statement for him wanting to "coach" his teammates. Outside of Tindall there really isn't anyone he could really coach. I would prefer he led by example, put in extra time on the field and film room and show the younger guys commitment, nutrition and lifestyle needed to be an elite pro.
