With Jamarcus Russell's stock soaring and Brady Quinn's stock dropping as of late, would it be out of line to suggest that the Dolphins might be able to pick Quinn at the #9 spot. And with Brian Brohm's coach Bobby Petrino going to the Falcons, might he enter the draft. Dwayne Jarrett and Calvin Johnson's stocks have been rising. That along with some underclassmen who recently declared for the draft makes this draft very interesting.
Out of the 8 teams ahead of us, how many teams are in need of a QB.
Oakland- No doubt in my mind they get Jamarcus Russell
Detroit- They could go with Joe Thomas who is ranked higher in BPA than Quinn is. Even more interesting, the injury to Kevin Jones could be serious meaning they might wanna draft Adrian Peterson.
Cleveland- They could easily go with a QB and lets say they do in fact draft Brady Quinn who has said he would like to play for the Browns. I believe its either Quinn or Alan Branch. Many would say Calvin Johsnon but they have holes to fill.
Tampa Bay- I dont think they go with a QB since they just gave Simms a contract extension. I think they go with Joe Thomas or Calvin Johnson- whoevers still there. If theyre both gone, they go with Alan Branch.
Washington- They need a pass rusher. They go with Gaines Adams.
Arizona- Not sure who they go with but easy to say, they dont need a QB. Maybe they go with the pass rusher from Arkansas-Jamaal Anderson.
Houston- They could go with a QB but I think theyd be better suited with a RB which they really need.
Minnesota- They could go with a QB too but I think they drafted T. Jackson in the late 2nd round I believe so with that in their mindset, they might go with Dwayne Jarrett to upgrade the WR position.
Miami- Not many teams ahead of Miami DESPERATELY need a QB which could be good news. If a guy like Brian Brohm or Brady Quinn is there at the 9th pick, you cant pass on him. Hopefully in the upcoming years we will not be this high in the draft so this would be our best year to take a potentially good QB. With that pick, we can get rid of Harrington and put Brohm/Quinn 3rd on the depth chart as to let them know they are the future of this team.
Fin Fans know more than anybody that the QB position is the most important position in football. We havent had stability in this dept. since the last time we drafted a QB in 1983!! Its been too long.
