Call it prejudism, call it whatever you want. I was upset because we passed on the Catholic QB, to take the Mormon. I know, I need to grow up and let my religious prejudism go away.
After all, Brady was supposed to be the next Dan Marino. Dan is Catholic. So is Quinn. Beck is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the latter-day saints.
Quinn went to the same school as Joe Montana and Joe Theismann. I wanted that tradition. I wanted a successor to Dan the Man.
I have been watching a lot of film on Beck. I am impressed. I like what I see.
I guess I wanted Quinn for the name. I now want Beck for what he brings to the team.
He is a BYU graduate. Just like Jim McMahon and Steve Young were. They are both Super Bowl winners and probowlers.
I am sorry for being prejudist. I know I was wrong.
Welcome John Beck.

Religious Prejudice??huh?? Anyway!!! Beck=stud!!

YES! YES! Welcome JOHN BECK!!!!!!:ninja:

Welcome John Beck.

This post started off wrong in so many ways, but you recovered nicely, I was prepaired for a fight, because I to am a Mormon. We are all Christains right.

im a southern baptist but if it will win us a super bowl ill join the church of lds today. Maybe beck will lead us to the promised land just like john smith did.:cooldude:

I am from Utah and yes a "mormon". I have seen every single game of john collegiate carreer. He will be very good. Quin is over-hyped. Airforce safety who played agains both beck and quin stated that beck was the better qb with his ability to look off safety's and accuratly hit the open reciever. Beck carved up TCU's defense who was top ten nationally ranked when they played. I'm telling you Beck will be good. In fact 21 teams thought quin wasn't all he was hyped up to be either. Beck is a steal. Why? because he played at BYU, how many times have you ever heard of that school? Well I just moved out here and you will not be suprised. Just give him one year to soak up the system.

It takes a thinking person to come to grips with ones own prejudice. It takes guts to admit it. The important thing is that the goal should always be to want the player for what he brings to the team. The rest is irrelevant. I couldn't tell you what religion any of the other Dolphins are. And I don't care as long as it doesn't negatively impact the team. For example I'd be against drafting a guy whose religion didn't allow to work on Sunday. LOL

Silly topic but Brady Quinn is Methodist, he just attends a Catholic college.

so, did you want Rick Mirer to come in back in the day to backup Marino (and take over for him when he got injured) ?? Because Mirer came from the same "catholic" school .
