I was wondering what the general concensus is on us drafting Brady Quinn in the '06 draft. Personally, I think that he will be a better pro QB than Young, Leinhert (spelling?) because of the way he stands in the pocket and takes the hits but makes the throws he needs to. He's very strong (check out the game they lost against Michigan State...he throws a larger defender off of him and completes a long pass.

Vince Young is a tremendous athelete and Leinhert gets all the publicity. But Quinn has shown that he can pick up a pro offense very quickly and be very successful in that system.

Am I alone in my thinking that Quinn could be the best to come out next year?

General concensus is.....as a current Junior and with Weis as HC of the Irish, he stays for his Senior season and comes out in the 2007 draft.

If he does come out and declares early...many here are starting to see the same things you see and like him. That includes me.

I like Quinn alot and would love for us to draft him. However if he deceides to come out i'm afraid he will climb the draft board and go higher then we pick.

Actually this has crossed my mind. Weis turned this guy into almost a superstar over night. I am not saying the guy was bad before Weis but it shows what good coaching can do and I do believe we have that now. Weis taught the guy to believe in himself and showed faith in him. That I think made the difference and you see the transformation on the field every Saturday.

Would love Quinn, The announcers of one of his games, compared his pocket presence to Marino. I thought that was cool.

Agreed completely.

And the other consensus is this has been talked about in the college forum. :D

I like him alot and think because his stock is skyrocketing he may end up in this draft. I doubt he will be there when we pick though, because I think he will be up there with Leinart and may even pass him. If he does enter the draft though that could only be good for us because it pushes the other QB's lower and may give us a shot at someone else.

quinn will most likely stay in college and play his senior year. He's definitely showed some great poise this year under Weiss and emerged as a top QB in the NCAA. I really dont separate Leinart, Young, or Quinn into different classes. They are all tremendous athletes, but with that said, I believe Young will emerge as the best out of this trio especially after this year due to his pocket presence and constant threat of scrambling. All of them need work, but I believe Quinn should stay another year under Weiss and Leinart needs to work on his arm strength. Leinart's got a great sense of the game and good touch of the ball, but he lacks arms strength and mobility. So like I said up above, all 3 of these guys are tremendous athletes, but havent quite yet separated from one another into superiority.

Acquiring Quinn would be a step in the right direction but our likely draft position may not allow for it. The guy has alot of poise in the pocket. I never really liked watching ND but Weis and Quinn makes them a joy to watch.

You got that right. He changed that team almost overnight.
