With the best of them, I would have opposed any player from the AFC East as being truly great. Usually that rule would have involved a Jet. I have fought my admiration for Tom Brady for years. I have managed this for, oh about eight years. Done. To be honest I had a grudging admiration for this guy long before then. I found myself shouting tonight, not for the Patriots, but for Brady, because I have found the whole Tebow extravaganza to be nauseating, at best. That is a personal opinion, rather than the result of some creed I hold.

I have never doubted that Dan Marino is the best, pure passer that this league will ever know. I am secure in this knowledge, because no-one came before him who was better. Someone may come after him who is better, but because of the rule changes we will never know. We can surmise, but we can never know.

I love the pocket passer. Always have. I do not want us to trade away picks for RG3. I do not think he is the Messiah. Nor do I believe Cam Newton will win a Superbowl. I think he will be a revelation for a few years, but he will never get you to the dance. And I think he is by far the superior of RG3.

Tom Brady is a phenom. He stands in the pocket for an age. He delivers the ball with such accuracy and timing, especially in the most highly pressured moments of a playoff game. And he does it, year after year. There are those that said he was good because he had a great defense. Then it was because he had a great offensive line. Then it was because he had great receivers. And on, and on, ad nauseum. Notice, no-one mentions the running back. Martin was the best of a bad lot, but not exactly the best, or in his prime. I mention this because of the propensity of Dolphins fans to use this as an excuse for my ultimate hero.

Finally, there will be the inevitable argument when it comes to Rodgers. Great year. Brees Great year. Lets just wait and see how either fare when the cap has caught up with them, and they are left with the remnants of a once great franchise. Brady has been doing it for years. Lets judge them when they have faced the reality of the NFL economic realities that are soon to follow.

I apologise in advance for the rant. Had way too much to drink

Meh! Gronk is making Brady look good we already covered this.

Cheering for Brady over anyone is a :bobdole: in my book.

Hate the guy. He is a female trapped in a top 5 QBs body.

Do not need a RB in this new NFL.

The 2nd Gronk TD is overruled for every other team, the ball clearly moved when he hit the ground, clearly. I don't get how that one is not overturned!

I wouldn't go THAT far. You still need a decent running game at the very least to compliment the passing game...keep defenses honest. Also need someone to pick up those critical short yardage situations (3rd n 1, 4th n inches, goalline situations, etc).

You type well for someone who's had a lot to drink :d-day:

Tom brady can sleep and still have no pass rush on him... Broncos Def is indeed need of help for this off season

Personally, I'm just sick of the guy. No doubt I am a Miami homer, but it's just ridiculous. Even the BEST players in the league have an off year, or eventually start to wind down. It's been a friggin decade, and the guy keeps getting better and better. I yearn for the day when him and Belichick retire.

Can't play defense anymore. Have a good QB and some athletic TEs and nobody can stop you.
