Brady's Comeback Impressive

What really sucks is that he is a lock to win comeback player of the year.

He'll come back to the NFL w/ 80% of himself. If you want to see how he really is, he needs to face a D w/ constant pressure. If he does fine, he's back 100%. He'll struggle a little bit for the first half of the season, but he'll still win his team games. He should be fine later. If the Dolphins are to win the AFC EAST in 2009, I want Brady to be at full strength.

Why does that suck? I understand you hate the Patriots but let the guy have his career.

Do you seriously not understand? It sucks because he hasn't done anything to come back yet. He can have his career, but that shouldn't include being a lock for awards which you have done nothing to earn besides have a name.

That being said I don't necessarily agree that he's a lock already cause he could possibly suck it up this season. Someone that really deserves it may just show up and put Brady to shame.

I don't think you get it. He didn't say he was a lock to get it because they're just going to give it to him. He's obviously going to earn it if he does win comeback player of the year. The poster was saying Brady is a lock to get it because really who else is going to challenge him for comeback player of the year if he puts up a Tom Brady season?

Impressive??? Sorry but one pre-season 1st half against defenses that have been scale back is not note worthy.

An impressive come-back is Marino's 94' season opener, after his achilles injury, against the Patsies in which he threw for 473 yards and 5 TD's and finished the season with 4453 yards and 30 TD's. If Shady can pull something off in this manner in the regular season than it can be deemed impressive.

Merriman and Umenyiora come to mind. But I agree, all things being equal, it probably goes to Brady. QB is a spotlight position, and compared to the others, it may afford Brady the best chance to succeed. He doesn't have to tackle anybody or shed blockers.

80% of Brady is still the best QB in our division and still better than probably 80% of QBs around the league. It sucks that such a great player is on a division rival but just like I respected Marino as a great QB I respect Brady and I never doubt the guy.

He has to make it through the season to be comeback POTY. I predict he will get hurt in his upper body this time to his throwing arm and he will be out a couple of games. I base that on tough schedule.

Then you're screwed with Chad Pennington at QB

What is so remarkable about Brady is that he makes it all look so easy. Coming back from a career threatening injury complicated by infection that could have ultimately threatened his life, it's anything but easy.

That 2nd sentence is a bit melodramatic.
I guess you could make the argument; albeit a weak one, that any bacterial infection requiring antibiotic therapy could potentially threaten ones life
