Branden Albert . . . . . . and Ryan Shazier

Short, lacks athleticism....maybe not embarrassed, but exposed...I don't see him as a 3 down player...

I think he is much better in coverage than you are making him. High character kid that would help this team.

I like the kid....I just don't see him covering a TE or dropping deep middle and having an impact

I will give you this, it is getting harder and harder to find defenders that can do this because the offensive weapons are so athletic.

True....TE's are as athletic as WR's now...

If Nix were BPA, we could use someone to replace Soliai. But he's not going to be. Donald could be BPA at 19 (assuming he lasts). I'd have no issue drafting him.

Awhile back, I started a semi tongue in cheek thread about taking Hageman at 19. Partially because, it would aggravate alot of people on this site. Hageman IMO is more versatile than Nix or Donald.

Here is what bothers me with Mosley…the medical and the fanfare that Bama defenders get before entering the NFL and never living up to the hype. The latter is not fair to Mosley, but it is hard for me to get over.

Agreed. Nicky over uses and abuses the 5 star talent he recruits. By the time prospects get to the NFL, its like they are 10 yr vets in terms of physical wear & tear.

Shazier is too small. I don't want someone that has to bulk up.

As a matter of fact, I don't want anyone off of that Ohio State defense. They let teams run up and down the field on them all year, including the bowl game.

There is an interview on Fins website with Brian Baldinger about G Shelly Smith, was among top runblocking gaurds in NFL in 2012.Needs work in pass protection.

Lane Johnson and DJ Fluker were rookies last year...

Good point, they're only going into their second year. But that's the exception, not the rule. Two players out of 12. All the others have several years of experience. Also keep in mind guys like Johnson will be off the board by the time we pick in the first round. So, since the draft is deep at RT, and we may not have an opportunity to draft an elite tackle, Hickey may go to other positions first.

I have no problem with him if he does that. The line is a work in progress, and will be through next year's draft.
