I typically hate these threads when a guy shakes loose. However, it is looking like the Cowboys are going to release Brandon Carr. I am thinking that adding this guy to our fins would really help our CB depth and shore up the position if we add him to the CB mix. Wondering what you guys think of this guy who was a prized free agent not too long ago?

The Cowboys defense was pathetic. I don't want anyone off of it.

The more time goes on, the more Waynes seems like a real target. I don't think the team is adding any more CBs before the draft.

Brandon Carr was horrible for the Cowboys last year.

Last season, Brandon Carr played an impressive 1028 snaps (14th in the league), but managed to somehow avoid corralling even a single interception. On top of that, Carr was only credited with 8 pass deflections (Again, on 1028 snaps!). This was the first time in his career that Carr failed to log an interception and the 8 pass deflections is his worst total since his rookie year where he only had 6 deflections.

I'm not interested in Carr but your logic is a horrible way of looking at players

Carr was a stud in KC. He was mis-used in Dallas. I'd be open to bringing him in on a short term, team friendly deal.

i dont think it would hurt but if you have to pay him like he's a lock starter than no i'll pass...if you can pay him to compete and have an easy out come final cuts should he not show well then sure why not...might be the terrence newman the bengals got for a couple years after he was jettisoned from the cowboys

although it's probably another one of those wait til you see how the draft plays out decisions on a veteran

Carr was really good before Dallas, hence him being a "prized" free agent. These are the types of players to take chances on. Get him on a one year prove it deal and let him bet on himself. I'd be in for the right price.

we already have plenty of crappy corners, we need a good one

if we can get him in cheap for a year, to show himself... would be great. he is not a horrible CB... he actually is quite solid, but had struggles in Dallas obviously. we all know what happens to defense with injuries, and different things being done. Carr I think can definitely be a contributor and producer. bring him in cheap once again... see what he can offer for our future!!!

The Cowboys want to keep him, just not at his current price tag. So far he is unwilling to renegotiate.
