FORT LAUDERDALE — Brian Flores was given a five-year contract to coach the Dolphins for a reason.

It was with the understanding that rebuilding the Dolphins will take time, and owner Stephen Ross is willing to give him that time, no matter how ugly things look in 2019.

That was clear when a source confirmed to The Post on Tuesday that Ross is committed to bringing Flores back in 2020 even if the Dolphins continue to take the kind of poundings they have been taking through much of this 0-5 start.

The Dolphins have been beaten by an average of 27.6 points in these five losses — despite the 17-16 defeat suffered against Washington last weekend in a game that came down to a failed, last-second two-point conversion attempt.
