This guy was shaky his rookie year but improved pretty steadily in my opinion... Last season he seemed to be putting it all together. this preseason he has looked really really good, if not for the questionable PI penalty on his interception he would have been almost perfect in coverage.

At 6'3 218 with pretty decent speed he is the prototype size.. I really think he could be due for a big year this year.

He has the potential to be Calvin Johnsons tightest cover in this league. Other than that though he doesn't have a very high ceiling.

And he's 6 foot 3 and 3/8.

Well I realize at 6'3 and a half he can cover the bigger receivers, but if I'm not mistaken he ran around a 4.40 forty yard dash at the combine.. that's really deceptive speed for his size, I think he could be the ultimate corner

He is our best corner after the Davis trade. He has shown swagger throughout camp and hard knocks, even daring Tannehill to throw the ball his way. I like this kids swag and he is only 24. I hope he produces in the regular season and we can have him our cornerstone DB

But I thought we suck and have no "assets"......BAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I'm sure the haters r gonna say 1 tall corner isn't enough. Just 6 more days baby, just 6 more. lol

I've always liked Sean Smith, but there are still some things he struggles with. Mainly the quick change of direction and especially comeback routes. He has good enough speed but still gets beat deep at times on a double move. Despite all of this he does get his hands on a lot of balls, he just doesn't catch them. He is without a doubt the best CB we have now and if he's better than the past couple of seasons then thank God because we are certainly going to need him to be Great.

Smith has a lot of flaws to his game. To me he looks like he has ankle weights a lot and I wanted to cut him just a year or 2 ago. But I've gotta say I love his confidence, toughness, and work ethic. I think that's the direction the Dolphins are going in now imho, intangibles/tangibles.

Right now he might be one of our best defensive palyers

I'm probably this guys biggest homer. I've been waiting for him to make the leap, and he's looked good since wk 2 of the preseason. He's also lost a little weight, so if there was a year to turn the corner, it's now.

Looks like Nolan Carroll is starting to have things "click" also. Would be nice to have two solid CBs again. Man I have missed Madison & Surtain!

Anyone who was able to review the game have any thoughts on how well / how often nolan carroll even played vs the texans?
