NOT to nola. He basically just did a Hi-and-Bye in nola, he is camped out in S Fla. and the Dolphins are DEAD SERIOUS about him. Saban DOES know his stuff. BREES is who he wants, I don't care if culp crawls down the Turnpike barefooted over broken glass.

First off, I live in Birmingham and the tornado warnings weren't near the airport and were gone by the time he would land.

All WWL 870 said was that he left Miami, which he did. The only people saying he was heading for N.O. were posters on here overreacting. He isn't going back to Miami for negotiations, whatever is being done is over the phone. He was in Miami for the same amount of time he was in N.O. He had dinner with Payton and Loomis as well as Saban and Mueller. He had as many medical tests in N.O. as he did in Miami.

The bottom line? Nobody knows what is going on right now except Brees and his agent.

Unless it is week 1, Brees has signed with another team, and Culpepper has been traded elsewhere, be patient.

Brees wants to be in Miami, or else he would have already accepted the NO deal, or at least stopped negotiating with Miami.

this reminds me a lot of all the cba talk...everyone was saying that it wasnt going to happen and that they were soo sick and tired that it was taking forever but guess what all the waiting resulted in a deal and everything turned out good...we have to be optomisitc that we will sign brees

You have to ignore reports that say: "The Dolphins will have a new QB by tonight." "Dolphins set a deadline for Brees"
The same people have been saying that line of BS since free agency opened Friday night, and they've been wrong. But we have all been glued to ESPN because of these reports.
The Dolphins will have a new QB, either Brees or Culpepper, before it really counts, in September.

Actually, the tornado cell went right over the Airport! I watched it on the local weather the entire way!

I don't know - and I'm not sure anyone knows for sure - when Brees would have come back here. But, regardless, this is where he is rehabbing under James Andrews and he's not going to waste a day sitting around in Miami. And, his agent will likely do the negotiations via phone & fax - as so many do these days. It is often the case that a player visits a team and the agent negotiates the deal via long distance and the player signs. His agent doesn't need to be there (in fact, most can't b/c they represent multiple clients who are also in negotiations).

The healthiest thing one can do, imo, is just trust Saban. He's got enough wisdom to know that he doesn't want to put the franchise at risk with damaged goods, but will weigh that against the need/risk to get a good QB in here.
