I know we're in a good place now. But where do you think this franchise would be if we made that oh so simple decision to get Brees instead of Culpepper. Painful mistake that cost us years...lots of them! :(

At least we have our future QB now. :)

We could of actually had Brees way back when he was drafted, BUT our brilliant Front Office passed on him for Jamar Fletcher. I dont even know if Fletcher is in the NFL still. He is probably working at Taco Bell now or something.

Oh what could of been. Sigh

I think Saban would still be here if we signed Brees. I don't know if that's good or not but I do like where we're going now.

Well hopefully we do with Henne, he sures looks promising though. I think everything happens for a reason in life in general and this goes for football, its a matter of how u look at it. If we got brees, that means we would still be with Saban or another coach and have a great qb, but eventually waste away in mediocrity. Not having Brees is what eventaully led to Cameron, which lead to Parcells, which Parcells is not just creating a team to have a good or great qb, but is building a promising team overall, which is what wins superbowls and contends for superbowls, not a mediocre team with a great qb, which is a decent chance miami could have been with the previous coaches and gms.

Plus in the humanitarian sense, Brees coming to New Orleans is what really kept the team to stay in New Orleans and give the people after Katrina a team to root for and stay in new orleans. New orleans were closing to be moved and bought out with it faltering previously and other financial issues, but Brees revival brought a spark and brought big success to the Saints team, which revitalized the saints attendance, which allowed the saints to stay in New Orleans and the people to keep their team as I believe I read contract was renwewed not too long ago for the franchise to remain in New Orleans up to 2025 I think. So thats way in the past, no reason to cry about that, but to move on, but I can see how...things happend for a reason over time..

I know he is one of the most hated guys in professional South FL sporting history, but Saban is a good coach.

The year before he brought in culpepper he did a good job here, that was his biggest mistake as a coach in probably his entire coaching career.

And if the Jets drafted Dan Marino instead of Ken O'brien, we would have grown up hating him instead of loving him.
What's your point?

I believe Fletcher is still in the league, San Deigo maybe, but yeah.... what could have been... stupid Saban.

To be fair, the Fletcher selection had nothing to do with Saban. That was the Spielman/Wanny regime.
