I just bought this ball for a $50 donation to the foundation I work for. It was an unsold auction item.

Did I pay too much?!

I figured the official NFL ball alone was worth ~$30 alone, so I took a shot. I know the value will go up if/once BG snags the game winning interception in the next SB :D

Depends on the foundation.

Nah, I think you did well. Just get a case for it.

Sig already looks pretty faded. I guess that's a fair price.

If it's a genuine NFL game ball, you got a steal. The ball alone is worth about $80-$90.

Did you measure the pressure to make sure it is good? Oh wait, Grimes has never intercepted Brady. Nevermind

its a good investment if your a fins or grimes fan. sadly sports collectible investments arent what they used to be as far as planning on flipping or making a buck off of. in the mid 90s i would say my sports card collection couldve netted a 1000 or more if i sold, id be lucky to get 100 and thats including my marino rookie card. heck at one time i found a drew bledsoe rookie card that was valued at $60 in a pack of cards. worth prob 10 cent now. i loaded up on autographed jerseys....have marino, clayton/duper, ricky, barry and bo. prob all worth a percentage of what i paid. but its all good, because when im gonna finally be able to do my man cave at my house they will all be on display.

so no its not a good finacial investment and you didnt over pay for a probowlers autograph on an official nfl football, but just know that the $50 has to be worth it to you because you're not gonna get that in return if times are hard and you are trying to sell it. it was for a donation so good job, youd paid more for the same thing buy it now on ebay. donations are always a great thing but its sweeter when you get a nice little surprise to go along with it

Did it come with a COA? If so, you got a great deal.

It came in a Miami Dolphins Foundation plastic bag. No COA, unfortunately, but its his signature, for sure. The item was provided to us directly from the Miami Dolphins Foundation.

Thanks for all the comments/suggestions, guys.

I really have no intention to sell it. I should, however, find a decent case to put it in.

I figured $50 as a donation for a signed official ball from a probowl player on my favorite team was well worth it.

I don't think its game-used, which would have been awesome. I think game-used balls have special markings, like the team name embossed on one of the panels.

Excellently played, sir.

the real worth in this stuff is emotional not financial. Players sign all the time so unless you have something incredibly rare it's not going up in value. $50 for an NFL game ball is a great price, it's less than the ball itself would cost w/o the sig.

so, i'm curious.....

is there a difference between a game-used ball and a non-game-used official NFL ball?

The ball I have seems to have all the official markings (Commish signature, "The Duke", etc.) except for the game-used markings/logos.

That's awesome though be careful as Miko might send you a bill and a lawsuit as you didn't appreciate it.

You're right about the emotional v. financial worth of the ball. BG is one of my favorite dolphins, so its just cool to have a ball signed by him. No real intent to get rid of it (or play with it, for that matter)

the teams have their names or logos printed on game balls, that's really the only difference- that and the way they break them in.
