Breshad Perriman runs a sub 4.3 forty

A scout said he ran a 4.15 in the 40. Sounds more like it's 4.22. Not sure it's legit?

Really.... my question is where has been all of his speed hype at all, until now.... nothing up till this point. i am confused with this. havent seen it on tape either

Breshad Perriman- UCF: he has a very thick body, his hands are decent i believe more to him not having great focus on the catch, he isnt overly explosive especially off the line, acceleration seems to lack, and his route running is quite rounded out, he seems to be an average WR prospect

Just watched tape of his 40s on NFL Network Path to the Draft. The key is that he ran two 40s...the first hand timed at 4.25, the second at 4.27

Interesting, because he just doesn't look sudden or explosive. However, that workout likely pushes him up into the 1st round.

ight... i am still confused... i went back and watched the film again. i do not see the speed.

he is stiff in hips, doesnt get in and out of breaks well and rounds his routes... i dont see the explosion.

whats happening here, am i blind??? someone help me understand this 40 time compared to his play on the field.

its a pro day 40. If it was at the combine it probably would have been an official 4.35 or something close to it.

Someone posted the video of him running the 40 on instagram. I timed it as best I could and got 4.21. He made it look effortless too.

However, he clearly doesn't play at that speed. The pads clearly slow him down more than most. He's not a great route runner and he loses a lot of speed when he changes direction, although given his top end speed with some coaching he can probably get better with his route running. The bigger issue I see are the drops...lots of drops. He also regularly mistimes his jumps when trying to high point the ball. Saw him catch or try to catch a few passes on the way down from his jump because he jumped too early. In the NFL that will end up getting picked. I don't know if it's a coordination issue or a vision issue. If I were interested in drafting him I would definitely have an eye doctor thoroughly exam him.

I've been re-visiting his tape some and there were definitely signs that he might be fast. If you look at DeVante Parker going up against NC State's corners and then you look at Breshad Perriman going up against NC State's corners, you'd say it's pretty probable that Breshad Perriman is at least a tenth and maybe two tenths faster than DeVante Parker.
