Anyone read the article in the palm beach post about what Micheal Ervin said about brett farve? Well for those the didn't basially what he said is that farve is partially responsible for the injury that walker sustained. Apperantly farve coaxed walker into returning to camp despite walker threatning to hold out for more money. He was scheduled to make $513,000 this year which is nothing considering he went to the probowl last year. Now he is out for the season and who know how much longer after that and has no nagotiating leverage. I for one think that this is a tragedy (in theory not literally) and I as a fan now have a bigger tolerance level for players that decide to hold out for more money. Farve makes 10M a year so it's easy for him to coerce players into coming back but now what. Does he go to walker in the hospital and offer part of his salary? I think not. :fire:

Good post, i definitly agree!

If Favre is a man, then he'll offer Walker some money. Of course, Walker will probably decline the offer, but still...

Walker is his own man. Favre did not "coerce" him to go to training camp... He decided to himself. It is rediculous to say its in any way Favre's fault b/c Walker decided to play and got hurt.

In no way do I believe this is Favre's fault. Javon made the decision to play.

Regardless of who's to blame whether it's Brett Favre or Javon Walker, it's a tough break for Javon. He was only scheduled to make $515,000 this year for Green Bay, he definitely deservered more especially after last season's performance. But now... he might not even get all of that because it isn't guarenteed money. Tough break, but it was his decision to holdout as it was his to end his holdout.

I wouldn't doubt if you see him in a new uniform soon because I'm sure this is Favres last year and I bet Javon is not happy with the organization right now

Stuff like this makes big time players go to other teams. His injury will end up hurting the Packers longer than this season.

I always thought Farve was totally out of line getting involved in Walkers contract dispute. He basically destroyed any chance this guy had of getting his contract redone by openly campaigning the management to just move on without him. What kind of player does that to another player? Its like Farve was the GM or President, hes a fellow player, he should be rooting for someone to make good money. 500k isnt much at all for a football player, thats basically the minimum salary. Its nonsense for a guy that has been signed to extremely lucrative contracts for like 10 years or more, albeit deservedly so, to undermine a player that is making less than he deserves. Farve was totally out of line and he should feel some responsibility for how much money Walker lost, it was his fault. He basically told the management to not give the guy the money, Ive never heard of a player doing this to another player, Farve had no business involving himself in this matter. Screw management, they make billions of the NFL, when they can't give a player his due they should man up and give him the money he has earned. If the Packers have any decency they will man up and give Walker a good injury settlement, he maned up and came to play, they owe him something. To not give this guy some money is totally classless.

I agree with all of you guys. Favre is a piece of trash IMO. He's got a 100 million dollar contract and he openly lobby's for management not to give Javon a new contract. Once Favre opened his mouth there was no chance for Walker to get a new contract. Walker deserves better then he's getting. If I was him the second I was able to get out of that dump Green Bay I would. I hope Favre goes 0-16 this year. I can't stand him!

Favre has a 100m contract and plays every game regardless of injury....walker is an individual, he didnt have to come to camp if he didnt want to....stop defending the cry baby millionaires

 no

Favre is washed up when is everyone gonna realize that. He's stealing money with his 6 int performance everytime he's in a big spot in the playoffs. His mystique died the day Michael Vick walked into Lambeau in the playoffs and beat him. If the Packers should be paying anyone big money now it should be young players. Look how Favre treated Aaron Rodgers whining about how he isn't going to mentor the kid and how he opened his big fat mouth about Javon's contract issue knowing that managment kisses his a$$ and that if he spoke out against Javon then he basically was guaranteed NOT to get a contract. Hell of a teammate don't you think? He's a pr*ck who needs to pass the torch already and get out of the game before he embarrasses himself!
