Brian Billick, Mike Golic agree: Miami Dolphins shouldn’t draft Ryan Tannehill

I really do hate agreeing with those two

Well actually they said we should draft him, so you agree with that? The thread title is completely wrong. They only said we shouldnt draft him if our reason is to appease the media and fan base.

Billick is about the last person who's opinion I would listen to when its about a QB.

Billick and Golic hate miami. That is what is behind this. They dont want us to have a successful QB. Thats what all the hype was about, so Cleveland would take him or some team would trade up for him. The media thinks they actually control things. Like in politics.

Who listens to Golic? What does he know, he said we'd suck last year....Oh, nevermind.

I think Tanny might be a better prospect than Weeden because of that athleticism, more than just age. Neither would start right away, anyway, so if you're going to 'groom' somebody, they should be the player with more tools. I still think if the Dolphins passed on Tannehill in the 1st round, he'd fall all he way to them in the 2nd. The concept of him going at #8 is all media hype and if Miami has the discipline to avoid that, the other teams would hold their noses and pass on him too.

I'd like to believe RT would be available in the second round for Miami, but I think either someone in the first round, or someone getting back into the first round, dropping down in the first round or early in the second round would draft him based on his potential. I want Miami to draft him, sit him most if not all of 2012 and then unleash him and Sherman's offense to the max in 2013.

I swear if we draft another Olineman i'll lose it.

Lombardi just said, "Desperation dictates situations like these." Said he doesn't know if Tannehill is a franchise QB, but MIA and the pressure from the fan base has put MIA in this situation. But hey Tannehill will be drafted in the 1st so he must be a 'franchise' QB.

Fixed it for ya.

Dolphins should move back in the first and get a pass rusher. Tannehill will fall and we could move up from our second if we think he will be gone by then. He will not play this year therefore his value is not first rd.

No, they don't think we should draft him at 8, they said a top 10 pick should be ready to start this year, if he's someone who need some time, then he's not a top 10 and shouldn't be picked at 8th.
They feel he's a good prospect and a good kid who they'd love to have on their team, but not that high..I agree with them, I think we, the fan's want a QB so bad we'd take any one as long as he's a first day pick...but Jeff I. correctly didn't overpay for Orton, Flynn or go after Tebow. I think the guy knows what he wants in a QB, and if one was there that met his criteria in the 1st round, he wouldn't hesitate to go get him..but the best qb's in this draft are gone after pick 2, the rest are 2nd round picks or lower to include Tannehill..If we get a 2nd day QB, then we need to build the team around him, while he's being developed and not throw him into the fire. I think we killed Henne in his 2nd year of starting by changing the OL and getting him blasted.. a good OL and Henne would have developed...but know..the OL in his first year that made him look good and led the league in rushes wasn't good enough, so we changed them and changed our future QB and situation...that was on the miami coaching staff Saprano.
