Because Kyle Wilson has been covering him like a blanket all night long.

In fact they just showed a replay of Bess being wasted on a route covered by Wilson. Gruden talked about how the Jets have washed out Bess tonight
 
Bess didn't all of a sudden start to suck. It's the quarterbacks that suck. Bess is one of the best slot receivers in the league. He's a keeper.
