It appears that Brock Lesnar, a former World Wrestling Entertainment professional wrestling champion and talent acknowledged to have caught the attention of UFC president Dana White, is one of the “star quality†fighters that K-1 has in mind for their Hero’s debut in America. He is on tap to face Hong Man Choi, the 7-foot 2-inch goliath from South Korea. Lesnar is sure to draw some attention when he makes his MMA debut against Choi, but it’s not likely the type of match that will put K-1 over in the U.S.

The show will be on June 2nd on PPV...Ill be watching...

K-1 has been known to have "worked" fights. I am guessing this will be one of them. I don't believe this will be a true "shoot" fight

Brock Lesnar could potentially be a very good MMA fighter. He is a great wrestler, a former NCAA Division 1 champion. We all know how well wreslters can transition into a successful career in MMA. How many other former NCAA D1 wrestling champs can you think of that have had some success in the MMA game? Mark Kerr, Kevin Randleman, Mark Coleman, and Josh Koschek come to mind.

I, personally, am very excited about Brock Lesnar competing in MMA. If he has decent hands, and can learn some jiu-jitsu, he could be VERY dangerous.

K-1 doesnt wrestle though. their stand up fighting.

the dates finally set...its about time...speculations been swirling about Lesnar for a while.

I always wondered how good the guys in pro-wrestling actually are as fighters. In general, does anyone know (based on history)? Or is Brock the first to seriously make the move?

I know Kurt Angle once thought about doin' it but his neck is all jacked up. As far as I know Lesnar is the first to do it. I could be wrong though. But Lesnar was a legitimate All-American wrestler at the University of Minnesota.

Lesnar and Royce Gracie our both going to be at the same event! Those tickets will sell to Americans and Canadians now! Watch just for that pay per view there sales our going to rise big regardless of wether both Gracie and Lesnar get punched out

There's been successful transitions among a few Japanese wrastlers. thats a different sports culture altogether though. I know Butterbean, killed Sean O'hare in like 2 minutes. I don't think thier training is up to snuff to compete with true mma pros. Brock is a freak though, and the fight should be somewhat entertaining(depending on how inexperienced his opponent is)...but put him in against any competent mma heavyweight, and i dont think his natural ability will take him too too far. kurt angle thinks he could beat tito ortiz, which is not only a joke, but an insult. he wouldn't fair well in mma either. guys like matt lindland make the transition from wrestler to mma pro look easy. true blue wrestlers like mark kerr, mark coleman, kevin randleman are not top fighters anymore, sad to say...and kurt angle certainly wouldnt do better than any of these guys. so, in a nut shell, wrastlers are wrastlers, and fighters are fighters.

(didnt mean to confuse anyone with wrestlers/wrastlers) true wrestling is an awesome background to have going into mma.
