BUNKLEY BUSTED
Profootballtalk.com has learned that unsigned Eagles first-round draft pick Brodrick Bunkley has been arrested for having a loaded handgun on the dashboard of his car.
The arrest was made by the Delaware River Port Authority on one of the bridges connecting Pennsylvania to New Jersey.
Bunkley was the fourteenth overall pick in the 2006 draft. He currently is unsigned even though the team opened camp earlier this week. The major sticking point reportedly has been the length of the deal -- the team wants six years, and Bunkley's agent, Gary Wichard, will agree only to a five-year term.

What is up with these guys. Do they not understand the money that they are risking?

they do understand, thats why they keep protection.

Yeah, but they need to get or permit or something. That way they can legally carry a loaded gun.

thats why so many kids get shot? no so many kids get shot because of the ghetto, not because of a football player carrying protection.......because he doesnt have a permit its the worst thing in the world to people, Merriweather wasnt pounded by everyone because he possibily saved his teammates life by carrying a gun.

Looks like it happened over a week ago and the Eagles didn't know. :hmmm:
BUNKLEY BUST NEWS TO EAGLES
Profootballtalk.com has caught wind of strong rumors in Philly that unsigned Eagles first-round draft pick Brodrick Bunkley has been arrested for having a loaded handgun on the dashboard of his car.
The arrest, which per the rumors was made by the Delaware River Port Authority on one of the bridges connecting Pennsylvania to New Jersey, happened at least a week ago. An effort was made to get the charges dropped quietly, but prosecutors (we're told) have refused to do so.
Meanwhile, early word out of the Eagles organization is that they haven't heard of any arrest. In response, our source for the rumor says that official news of the charges won't break until Friday.

Merriweather had a permit and was using a registered gun. Nothing illegal there.

Eagles' Gaffney faces handgun possession charge

PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jabar Gaffney was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a handgun following a traffic stop last month, New Jersey county prosecutors said Friday.

Gaffney had a permit to carry the weapon in Texas, but not in New Jersey, Camden County prosecutors said. The charge carries a maximum five-year sentence but most first-time offenders get no jail time.

stupid you gotta have a permit like that

thats different. saying a player is likely headed to a town is different then saying someone got arrested.
