Hillman and Ball. Moreno was 3rd string on depth chart until defenses had to cover every one else and Manning could dump the ball to him. Not saying he's terrible but probably comes in a little inflated.
Moreno is to Broncos fans what Daniel Thomas is to us.

Him being better than DT isn't saying much other than just how bad DT is (funny, I remember a lot of people placing him on a pedestal after his one good game...what happened? ). It's going to take more than one decent year with a great QB to convince me.

I get the buyer beware aspect of this....but I see little risk, you know he can pick up blitzes and catch passes and run with a bit of power which is what we need. He's a competent tailback and he won't break the bank or hurt our cap long term. I'd prefer MJD but much rather fill the hole before the draft, we still have the freedom to draft a guy we want or see if Miller develops further. The guy was unreal at Georgia...sure he got a lot of help in Denver but it could just as easily be a sign of things to come and that maybe he's put it all together. His production was great last year but all these backs have red flags and the best option in the draft IMO (Hyde) won't be on our board, same for Hill...if there's good value take a talented back and use Knowshon on 3rd downs. Whoever we draft is unlikely to be reliable there. Not much of a financial commitment.
I don't have a problem with it so long as it he doesn't cost a ton (I won't say vet minimum, but incentive-laden would be absolutely appropriate), DT is gone, and it doesn't stop us from drafting a RB as if we hadn't brought him in. RB isn't a difficult position to fix. If our GM can't do it rather quickly, it's time for a new GM.
...and yet when push came to shove neither one could take away the starting spot from him when the regular season started the past two years. I agree that is numbers are inflated due to Manning but lets not forget both of those RB's were given every chance to displace Moreno & couldn't.
