#1 Reason To Panic...
Same as last year.
Our offence cannot compete with physical defences.
They get punched a couple of times and fold up the tent.
Seattle, New England, St. Louis.
3 physical defences. 3 losses.
Pretty simple math.

Back to the drawing board and time to test some new plays out, and exploit each team's defensive weakness.

I alluded to this elsewhere, and I agree - we play too similar against every team. It's not that hard for the other team to figure out what we like to do. A lot of teams can't compete with our talent, so we win anyway. But if we're playing a team that can slow us down, we get out of rhythm and can't adjust.

Our offense is timing based, and when that timing is off, we're in big trouble (see: pretty much every loss from the Super Bowl on).

This 3-6 team was one of the games we HAD to win or a shot at home field, because running the table with seven games left was never likely, and even if we did that, we still needed NE to lose once.

Now it's much worse; even we run the table we need NE to lose TWICE. Basically, we must win our last 6 or NE must lose 3 of their last 6; both are pretty implausible. Miami's a good team (ask NE,) so unless we sort out our line in the next six DAYS we'll be lucky to win our next ONE, let alone our next six.

I think a lot of it was shuffling the O-line. They weren't good before, but now they can't pass protect, can't run, and get called for more and more penalties every game. I hate to say it, but just go back to the original lineup with Clark at RT and see what happens. Every time we change the lineup, the line gets worse. Call it subtraction by addition...

Watching Manning getting sacked yesterday was like watching a giraffe getting eaten by a bunch of lions. He can't possibly outrun anyone so he just gets swallowed up.

Wondering what kind of pass rush Miami is going to bring

sign incognito. Whats to lose

If the BRONCOS do this against the Dolphins, then I'd really be concerned. Dolphins will be their bounce back game.[/h]

I really think the Denver fans think most of we here do...the D is the key to this game! go fins!

If we run the table we only need NE to lose one other game. We would have the tie breaker with two wins over them. They lose to Green Bay they drop to 3 losses...they then lose to us which makes 4 losses and we could both finish 12-4 and we would be division champs.

But we're getting way ahead of ourselves.

Well I feel for Broncos fans, we usually fold against good defenses too....see the Bills, Detroit, and KC games this year. The Broncos have a good defense, but its predicated on pass rush. I think the stats suggest they have a great run D, but I think that has more to do with the fact that most teams they play are playing from behind. Denevr is also near the bottom in takeaways.

People think this is going to be some high scoring affair but if our D plays like they have been this game is 100% winnable. The offense has to play mistake free football and score touchdowns in the redzone and stop shooting themselves in the foot with penalties and mistakes that turn a touchdown drive into a field goal.

Also the offense has to run the ball, Denver is tougher than Miami against the run and Miami needs to establish a running game right off the bat.

I'd be more interested in seeing what they look like after the Dolphins loss.

Peyton Manning...meet Cameron Wake.

:chuckle:

10 days to prep....we better come out on fire.

That was before Nate Irving went down at MLB....Denver gave up 100 yards rushing for the first time with him gone.

We should be able to run.

I think we can as long as we keep the game close. If we are down by two TD's, its going to be tough to run it.

That's what I'm worried about. This is kinda like a mini bye week and we don't come out and play very well after bye weeks.

We would have beat Green Bay after a bye week if Raw Dog hadn't raw dogged himself out of the lineup.

This game is a must win imo. We win we stay within striking distance from new england, we gain the tiebreaker on denver and push kc likely into first place, thus elimintaing a wild card opponent. Then wed be sitting at 7-4 with tie breakers over chargers and broncos and still an opportunity to gain one on Baltimore as well. Not to mention that if we knock denver down a peg it'll only light a fire under san Diego because they will be right back in it. Then all we really need is kc to hold down the top spot and we are looking REAL good!
