I think this is a potentially great hire. Kubiak is the best offensive coach in football, and he's been to this rodeo once before. I can definitely see him joining the ranks of head coaches who do a lot better their second time around if he handles his defensive staff the right way.

Anyway, I'm mostly just disappointed that this takes him off of the table for us next off-season. He was on my short list.

Feather in your cap JD.
If Kubiak is a success...
You have been calling for this for a while.

He has a track record of close to 20 years as an offensive coordinator and head coach. That offense will be good, period. Brock Osweiler might be hot garbage, and that offense will still be above average at a bare minimum.

I'm really curious to see if he can do a better job of managing his team overall than he did in Houston. I am one of those people who strongly believes that outside of JJ Watt, and Andre Johnson, that Texans team is lacking in talent. So I'm really curious to see what happens in Denver, where I think the team is very talented.

Kubiak was a mediocre/poor HC in Houston, I am so happy he declined interviews w/ other teams besides Denver(not that we would hire him anyway). Did a really good job in Bal as OC but some guys are meant to be coordinators and not HCs, we'll see if he improves in his 2nd stop but Denver is not in a great position right now.

I'm just glad he won't be the OC for baltimore next year when we play. Hopefully we get them early in the year before the new OC can get them clicking.

He's sure had our number. Have we ever beaten a team that had him on their coaching staff ? Maybe Denver long ago.

I always figured he'd end up back there eventually being that's where he got his start in coaching plus him and Elway are probably good buddies from the old days.

Denver, 2002, I think? That Monday night game when we beat them in the final seconds and Jay Fiedler broke his thumb.

It's been a while. He's a great offensive mind and i hope he does well there ... except of course when we play them :)

I absolutely hope he falls flat on his face. If he had landed in the NFC, I wouldn't care.

I think Mr Ed (Johnny boy) hired a friend and maybe was too rash in letting Fox go?

Watching NFL Live @ lunch today, I could not shake the feeling that Kubiak was Wannstedt & Peyton was Marino.

p.s. Ravens hired Trestman... Miami's drought against Bmore over?

I wonder what this means for Manning? On one hand its a totally different offense, so doesn't look good. On the other it seemed like Kubiak was content to stay with Baltimore, maybe the idea if working with Peyton changed his mind?

I don't think Manning is it. I think it is working with Elway again. I personally think Manning will retire. He went from saying he wasn't going to retire two weeks before the playoffs to being non-committal after the playoffs.

He's a good offensive coordinator. Like Phibin not a leader of men. He's wanted to keep schaub over Manning.

Stop with the witless Hayden jargon. :puke:
