Like several other teams involved in the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, the Broncos have been in discussions today with agent Tom Condon.
Talks are no more than preliminary, though, because Manning has not yet decided where he will finish his career and wants to take today to rest, work out and clear his mind, according to two NFL sources.
The Broncos are one of six teams who are considered alive in the pursuit of Manning. The others are Miami, Arizona, San Francisco, Tennessee and — surprise! — the Houston Texans.
The Texans recently inquired about Manning, according to a source. If they get seriously involved, the Texans might be considered the Broncos' biggest threat. Like the Broncos, Houston is an AFC team. Unlike the Broncos, the Texans currently have the pieces in place to be considered a Super Bowl-contending team.

Houston doesn't need Peyton. With a healthy QB, they would have beat Baltimore and probably NE. They know that and so does Peyton.

This is getting to be a ****ing circus!
Miami, Seattle, Washington, KC, Jets are out... it's down to Denver and AZ as Manning is no longer taking meetings, but wait Miami is back in, so is Tenn, Frisco and Houston....

Jesus Christ!

Condon, he's a freaking puppet master. I'm really starting to like Condon a lot, much respect from me.

Schaub has a year left on his contract so if they were to get Manning they could cut Schaub and just have Yates learn behind Manning.

I tell you what though, if Schaub gets cut I'm all over that and drafting Tannehill with the first pick. Schaub has already been in the WCO for years and he's an underrated, underappreciated QB IMO.

We definately need to worry about Houston getting involved. They have a great OL, top notch WR, top notch RB. That team could make a serious SB run with Manning and everyone knows it. I think thats where he wanted to go all along they just havent shown interest till now.

The one bright side of Manning going to the Texans is the slight chance Schaub becomes available. I would certainly be interested in him playing QB for us. Aside from he or Manning, I just assume roll with Matt Moore.

I can't see Manning pushing Schaub out. That kind of move would make him look like a total dick.

schaub can't stay healthy...and he's overrated anyways...no thanks...if houstons getting involved not good

I would give up #8 for Schaub in a second.

Im glad you dont run show.....who would give a 8th overal pick for a qb who was hurt all last year and only has one year left on his deal? C'mon bro

I'm pretty sure Houston is ready to move on. Schaub is over 30 and only has one year left and what hoops says is right. In his 5 seasons with the Texans he's only played 16 games twice...he's hurt a lot...but he's pretty darn good when he's not hurt.

During those 5 season with the Texans, 16,903 passing yards, 65.3% completion, 92 TDs, 52 INTs, 94 QB rating in 64 games...pretty good in my book.

I could maybe see giving up #8 for Schaub... if he wasn't injured every freaking year.
