Broncos = Overrated Garbage

Last year the Broncos had the easiest schedule in the league. They lost to every good team they played decisively. I don't think the Broncos were actually in the hunt against a single good football team that they played in 2012 until their final one against Baltimore, which they also lost.

Also, they looked pretty lousy against some of the bad teams they beat.

Despite this, the ESPN morons were on the Denver hype train.
It's just another example of sports-journalism really having no credibility. It's all about generating interest, ratings, etc. I mean it's not like they can just tell the whole country for 13 years straight that the Patriots & Brady are #1, even if it's true.

So now it's starting all over again. "Peyton this, Peyton that. Welkah this, Welkah that."

Fools gold.

Ravens - LOSS
@Giants - LOSS
Raiders - Win
Eagles - Win
@Cowboys - Win
Jaguars - Win
@Colts - LOSS
Redskins - LOSS
@Chargers - LOSS
Chiefs - Win
@Patriots - LOSS
@Chiefs - LOSS
Titans - Win
Chargers - Win
@Texans - LOSS
Raiders - Win

8-8, maybe they sweep the chargers for 9-7. MEDIOCRE.

If they make the play offs, they'll choke as usual. If Peyton Manning doesn't throw the game losing interception, Welkah will drop the game winning catch.

This team is overrated garbage. The truth is harsh but it remains the truth.

I can agree to an extent with where you're coming from. ESPN has Denver winning the Superbowl in which they are the #1 seed in the AFC. They seem to have forgotten that Manning is only 2-5 when his teams have a bye and only 1-4 in the divisional round when coming off a bye. If Denver is to go deep into the playoffs, they'll have better shot at doing so as divisional winner without the bye, which means a more realistic 10-11 wins (I think they'll beat the Ravens and Colts).

they last won w/in 2 years of peyton's only SB. a year they had to go through the mighty Chiefs, a Ravens terrible O, a pats team w/ Gaffney and Caldwell as their top 2 offensive weapons and then a Rex grossman led team in the SB. Things broke PERFECTLY for Peyton that postseason for his lone SB win despite playing w/ SB caliber talent basically since day 1.

PATRIOTS AFCGC summary 2001, 2003, 2004:

The Patriots got to the Super Bowl in 2001 because Drew Bledsoe came in and replaced an injured Brady. Without Bledsoe in that game, Brady doesn't get his first ring.
The Patriots got to the Super Bowl in 2003 in spite of the offense scoring one TD, and relied on Vinitieri kicking 5 FG's.
The Patriots got to the Super Bowl in 2004 in dominating fashion, but it was against a rookie QB in Roethlisberger.

Excuses can be made for either Manning or Brady, but both are Hall of Fame worthy QB's.

Drew Bledsoe made one play, coming in after Brady completed a 28 yd pass to set up NE w/ a 1st and 10 from the Pit 40. They scored a TD and and would only add a FG the rest of the game keeping Pitt in the game despite a PR TD and blocked FG TD by the Pats.

FGs don't count? would you have preferred he led them to 14 pts and lost like Peyton?

oh against a rookie QB so Brady was completing passes on Roethlisberger. Got it:lol:

The excuses are comical.

Both are HOFers, one is top 5 all time and one top 20. Both all time greats but a huge difference btw them especially considered Peyton played on more talented teams and for a coach that at least made a title game w/o him.

Yea. You can tell they are going to struggle. Good call OP.

You really have to be worried about that OL and running game. In the league today, having an elite QB and some weapons to throw to just wont cut it. Its hard to see them generating enough offense to win games. :rolleyes2:

Broncos do look good, but Balt doesn't look scary at all, Flaco is making rookie mistakes out there...

Peyton was a machine yesterday. I can see him reaching 70 TD's this season. Not even kidding. It'll be an unsurpassable record.

Unbelievable game by Peyton and that Broncos offense last night, just ****ing ridiculous.

If they can sustain even close to that level of play throughout the season they are going to go 15-1.
