A 2014 first-round pick of the Miami Dolphins, James has a $9.34 million fifth-year option due on March 14, the start of NFL free agency. If the Dolphins rescind the option, as reports indicated, he'd immediately become a free agent. Otherwise, he'd remain under their control, and Denver would need to surrender draft capital and/or players to acquire him.

Would love if Denver traded a 2nd or 3rd for James or even CJ Anderson and a lower pick for him.

Definitely trade - I am so shocked when people insist on keeping slightly better than average players for big salary cap hits.

Our o line will be just as bad or good or whatever without James and his 10 million dollar price tag! Bye bye!!!!

You can avoid that number by working out a longterm deal . . . Like most teams do with draft picks.

This team does more rescinding than any team in the NFL. A sign of an indecisive front office that has no clue what they are doing and no faith or vision in their longterm plans.

If we can get him at the right price, we need to keep him. I’m sure not paying 10 though, or 8 or 9 really.

You do realize that if you sign him to a long term contract, like for example similar to Pittsburgh’s Marcus Gilbert, his cap number would go down from 9.3 to 2.3 million?

They lose him and use a top 50 pick on a right tackle and im turning in my fan card til tbaum swims with the fishes
But as it stands right now we might lose him and not get anything for him. Would you be happy with that? I hope you're not suggesting we pay him 9mill a year?

Ozzy rules!!

If Miami resigns him long term, he won't cost anywhere near that

Trade him. Davis at RT. Young and Smith as backup tackles. Find 2 guards between FA and the draft.
