ENGLEWOOD, Colo.  The Denver Broncos on Tuesday signed quarterback Kliff Kingsbury to their practice squad, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced. All eight spots on Denver’s practice squad are now filled.

Kingsbury (6-4, 210 pounds) is a first-year player who was waived by New Orleans on Aug. 29 after competing in its 2005 training camp and on its practice squad during the 2004 season. The 26-year-old was selected by New England in the sixth round (201st overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft and spent his entire rookie season on its injured reserve list with an arm injury.

Kingsbury completed 10-of-21 passes (47.6%) for 139 yards with one interception in two games (0 starts) for the Saints in the 2005 preseason.

word around the broncos circles was that you guys were going to pick up one of our own QBs named MAUCK...

Yeah I'm kind of surprised that Saban didn't take his guy back. Mauk played really well for us in preseason, too...for a third string guy, anyway.

thanks, but we already have three of those...

I honestly really didn't think that there was a really good chance of us picking Matt Mauck, I'm surprised that we haven't picked him up or any other QB, we may pick someone up, soon enough.
