ENGLEWOOD, Colo.  The Denver Broncos on Tuesday signed quarterback Kliff Kingsbury to their practice squad, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced. All eight spots on Denver’s practice squad are now filled.
Kingsbury (6-4, 210 pounds) is a first-year player who was waived by New Orleans on Aug. 29 after competing in its 2005 training camp and on its practice squad during the 2004 season. The 26-year-old was selected by New England in the sixth round (201st overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft and spent his entire rookie season on its injured reserve list with an arm injury.
Kingsbury completed 10-of-21 passes (47.6%) for 139 yards with one interception in two games (0 starts) for the Saints in the 2005 preseason.
