Brooks and Brewer All Pro's

Yes it is absolutely ridiculous that Achane only received 3 votes for All-Pro all purpose back utterly ridiculous.
Well that's fuel to Achane for next season ..
I remember him saying h's always checking what James Cook is doing. So I think this will motivate him.
I think Achane is at least at the same level of Cook.

I would have gone with
Bijan for first team
Cook second team

Mccaffrey all purpose first team
Gibbs / Achane all purpose second team

So we gonna just ignore that brewer is terrible in pass pro I take it?

Humphrey is way better all around and not anywhere near as scheme specific.

Anyways 290 lb center and 185 lb lead backs need to go if we gonna change our identity.
I agree with you about his pass pro, it is so hard for me to tell if it was the guardi and quarterback play was so shitty or if that will always be a weakness of his.

That’s him. Just like Paul being terrible as a run blocker is him. And Paul is truly terrible as a run blocker. Right now at least.

We aren’t gonna get anymore ball out of hand quick help the oline out than we were with Tua that’s for sure.

Achane. Folks could talk me into. Barring a trade offer I can’t refuse rest of it can leave. For me at least.

Brewer isn't terrible in pass protection unless he bull rushed which really shouldn't happen often (its all due to him being so light) in a proper scheme. He is under contract for another year, so its not a critical problem unless we go to a power gap offense scheme, which I doubt will occur.

Now 185 lead back problem, I agree is an issue that must be addressed, as well as the end of trying to trick someone on every play. RG right now is the big concern for me. There are a lot of interesting tackles coming out this year, some fit better guard in case we can't land one of the guards.

Smurfs in general need to become the exception on this team rather than the rule. Our OL however, looks good from that perspective.

Lol that's funny...I'm looking at from the perspective of how can we utilize this 2nd round pick before he gets cut, because LG ain't it, which probably means RG ain't it either.
Wasn't RG his natural position in college? If so, I'd try him there before Center. In any event, at this point with the new regime it really doesn't matter when or where someone was drafted. Every single player is now going to need to prove themselves to the new HC. He'll then determine whether they are potential starters, backups, developmental players, or hit-the-road-jack players. I don't think they will care one iota the round someone was drafted in. They don't have that hanging over their heads as that was Grier and McMoron's legacy.

Can't argue with that. He played left guard, right guard, and Center in Tennessee so I was having hope that he has finally found his spot. But he had not been good in pass pro no matter where he has been. That being said I absolutely let him play out the last year of his contract unless we can trade him.

I like Brewer a lot, really good leader. He is one of those smurfs when considering the position he plays as well though.

I think pivot is his spot no doubt. But if Miami can save money in a year where we are gonna have more dead money than god he’d be on my list.

If not and he plays out the final year I mean whatever. And heck no to any extension.

Unfortunately you pointed out his biggest flaw; he mauls people DOWNFIELD which means LBs and DBs. He doesn’t get push vs IDL. People focus on Jonah being terrible in pass pro, but if you watch they attacked the gap between him and Brewer 95% of the time. Brewer is a great player in a wide zone scheme, but a move to power gap or downhill power would expose his weaknesses. I don’t see him as a long term option unless we stick to a similar scheme.
Prove it 95% of the time... I'd be willing to bet that's not where the pressure came from this year.

The problem with a post june designation for brewer , I think cones with a dead cap hit of 5.4 million in 2027. We are going to clear close to 7 million releasing Ingold and Daniels

Hill, chubb, and sanders are all but gone as well. Eichenburg, Douglas, and Wilson are gone too imo.

Big Brewer fan but he absolutely does not need to be extended in Muami he will not be successful in anything other than outside zone. People who say he is soft or finesse are ignorant. He is a tough man, with bad intentions. But he is limited by his size and not worth the cost.

Don’t get me started on that ingold contract extension. Dude was less than a year removed from being out of football and we controlled for multiple years still and we gave him 3 and 17 mil.

Moronic.
