Posting this here in the main because it could be relevant. This has Tannenbaum's name calling him.. Injured player but before his (gruesome?) injury he was being talked about as one of the better corners of his class. would you guys take a gamble on him? I believe he was looked at as a slot only type right?

I think hes medically done

Sucks cause that kid was top shelf talent prior to the injury

I wouldn't take a gamble on any seriously injured players in the draft.

And if he was cut after 1 season he's clearly not getting healthy.

That's why I don't want us spending a pick on Smith.

Yeah me either.

Fans always think there is some amazing upside drafting an injured player who drops in the draft.

And they forget, for one your using a draft pick for a player who can't play.
Two, you have to use a roster spot on this guy.
Your medical staff is wasting time on him, coaching staff, stregth training staff etc.

All this when you could of just drafted a healthy player instead.

Right on, just wondering if you guys thought he was done. Probably is.

And I agree with you guys on Jaylon, but I'd still use like a 6th or 7th on him. But he will be gone no doubt someone will take the risk

This is true, but some guys are simply too talented to pass on, even with an injury. Jaylon Smith is one of those guys. If he's healthy, we have an elite game changing defensive player. I get your argument, but like Gurley last year, some injured guys are too hard to pass up.

Gurley was expected full recovery. Injury wasn't career ending.

Unfortunately that's not the same story for Ekpre or Smith. As far as really serious injuries go, the only player to make it is Willis McGahee that I can think of.

And Im still amazed by that.

Marcus lattimore is a perfect example

Yeah what is his status? He was supposed to be a an absolute stud? Is he still on a roster?

Nvm...I see now he retired in 2014. That sucks

That's a guy I'd bring in. Very possible he's done, but we could figure out for no GTD. Not like the Browns haven't made mistakes before.

I understand what everyone is saying, but he is suppose to be near healthy. It shouldn't hurt to bring him in camp,if he checks out medically.
