The Sideline View's Adam Caplan handicaps the Browns, Dolphins, Colts, Bills, and Cowboys as the five likeliest teams to take a supplemental draft bid on Baylor WR Josh Gordon.

Caplan has been on top of Gordon's supplemental draft prospects from the start. He has the Browns as "the top team for Gordon’s services" after they failed to land known target Kendall Wright in April's draft. The other four teams make plenty of sense, as well. 21 teams sent representatives to Gordon's Tuesday Pro Day. The supplemental draft will be conducted early Thursday afternoon.

20/1 chance that the Dolphins take the gamble of committing a high draft pick for Gordon. While he appears to have size, speed and talent, he is probably high risk (with the marijuana arrest issue) and Ireland is not a natural gambler on potsmokers. Philbin has a number of WRs with varying degrees of potential (eg Wallace, Matthews, Cunningham, Fuller, Moore, etc) before committing a draft pick for another. If we offer a 3rd or higher, then it's a vote of no confidence in the aforementioned WRs.

Why in todays society is someone not informed enough to think that weed is actually a " Drug" that makes someone a bad human being or brings character concerns?? Its not that big a deal that he got caught smoking 80 percent of college kids do plus half the NFL players do in the offseason anyway, just accept it dude.

Let the Browns or Cowboys throw away a 3rd rounder. We need ours for next years deep Wr draft

He is an intriguing talent and I would like to have him. Not sure about using a 3rd round pick on him. Would rather a 4th or lower.

Hey, I'm not casting aspersions on the guy. If people want to smoke weed, they do so knowing that it is not a legalized substance. In this case, Gordon is blessed with talent, but the fact is that he was arrested for possession. It is due to this action that he is available in the supplemental draft.

If you are born with the talent that one in a million people in America possess that kinda puts you in a little different standing. If you chose to use that talent to play the game of football that is fine but to do so at the highest level takes a special kind of commitment. A GM needs all the info he can to see if you are committed to using your body as an investment and being serious about taking care of it. Smoking pot is, like you say, something that a lot of Americians do, but not ones who are 100% committed to football. If he can't stay away from weed while he is trying to make it in the big leagues, there is little reason to think he will stay away from it once you fill his pockets with coin.

When I think of pot smokers in the NFL, I think of Ricky Williams. As an athlete, he was great. As a player for an organization who is relying on him to be there, not so much. Pot, albeit fun, does zero for motivation with the exception of motivating you to get more pot.
