last week CC was compaining about the money he "is not" making. How many of you think he should be rewarded with a big contract? Personally, I think CC is as over rated as any player we have in the starting lineup. He guesses way too much causing him to be out of position.... (IMHO)

I think the Fins will let him go and address both inside LB positions.

he's a solid lb, he doesn't make game changing plays but he doesn't get beat on the plays he is in there... lets face it he's no thomas or brooks... he's better than average and he deserves nothing more than that...

lights out? What games are you watching? This guy sucks and he is way over rated. The Ravens ran right up the middle numerous times and Crowder got man handled. If the fins give this guy a big contract then I will lose all respect for Ireland and company.

Crowders game play has diminished greatly over the past 2 or 3 games. [I dismiss the 13 tackles as a good game due to the fact that we lost.] Aside from a great 4th and goal stop on LT, he has done nothing lately and is playing like an average NFL linebacker.

If he doesnt man up like he did for the first few games, I will not be surprised, nor hurt, if he is not extended and is released.

i agree totally. just not sure where the upgrades will come from.

I think Channing can be a very good (not great) ILB,if and only if he plays next to a pro-bowl caliber ILB. That issue has to be addressed this offseason. The combination of him and Akin Ayodele is underwhelming at best.

What are all of these armchair assertions based on? Since nobody here has access to game film, there's no way that you can make an accurate assessment of his overall play.

What we do know, based on anecdotal evidence and stats is as follows:
1) He has not made many big plays (sacks, fumbles, INTs)
2) He has made many tackles
3) Zach Thomas thinks the world of him
4) He's already a seasoned vet despite only being 24 years old and should be entering the prime of his career soon

I say resign him.

i can watch him and ayodele either shoot the wrong gap or overrun the play in the run game or get washed out and unable to shed blockers.

there's no way i'd pay channing crowder top ilb money as a free agent or b4 he hits free agency. no way.

i wonder how impressed the regime is if they aren't even approaching crowder yet about an extension as has been reported.

I agree with you, and I believe we should resign him if he's paired with someone who will (as you stated in #1) make big plays.

you dont need game film on him to see him take himself out of the play over and over.

I still think Akin Ayodele has been player better between the two. I wouldn't mind Rey M. replacing Crowder. Not that Crowder has been bad at all, because I think he's progressed over the past few seasons, but if there is a chance at a better replacement then we sure should upgrade.
