they are a good, potentially great team. They just have some QB issues :)

I really hope tedford generates another top QB

Well, Ayoob just can't play. Frankly it was semi-shocking to see Tedford relegated to starting a QB of that caliber after the broken leg suffered by Longshore in the opener. Longshore was a very highly regarded prep so he may be the top QB you're looking for.

Cal has a dynamic little receiver in DeSean Jackson, one of the most dangerous players in the country and destined to become nationally famous. I'm just sick he didn't choose USC after being expected to go there last year. He has some of that Reggie Bush-type freakish ability.

Lynch and Fossett both have 1,000 yards rushing. Ayoob should be better under more experience with Tedford, it was his first year at Cal from Junior college.

Actually, Forsett fell one yard short of a 1000. Marshawn Lynch is probably the 2nd best RB in the nation behind Adrian Peterson. Ayoob was an extremely high rated JUCO transfer, much higher than Aaron Rodgers, & he just didn't play well. His accuracy is horrendous. He doesn't stand a good chance to play much this year with Nate Longshore returning. Cal also has a quartet of very talented receivers LaVelle Hawkins, Robert Jordan, David Gray, & the aforementioned DeSean Jackson. Their defense is usually pretty good with two standout corners Damieon Hughes & Tim Mixon. They have solid dline play from Mbokogu, Mebane, & Tafisi all who supply pretty good pressure, though Mbokogu is the only one with pro talent.

They will once again challenge USC & Oregon for the Pac-10 title next year. UCLA has lost too much for them to stay in competition.

Arizona st. should be included if the Defense improves.

I don't think so. They lose 6 starters on defense including their two leaders; Dale Robinson & Jamar Williams. A plus is that one of the nation's top defensive ends is eligble after transferring from Northwestern, Loren Howard.

Right now it doesnt seem like cal is gonna generate another top qb...but thats as of right now. Couple qbs next year that could have huge seasons are

Brian Brohm QB Louisville
Chad Henne QB Michigan
Kyle Wright QB Miami
Chris Leak QB Florida
Drew Stanton QB Michigan State

Throw Leak off that list. Insert Brady Quinn & Jordan Palmer. Tedford already has his top QB, Nate Longshore, a big time recruit back in 04 with a huge arm.
