Why are so many people freaking out saying we got shafted.. I know its a long shot but what if Lemon, a guy who never got a chance to play starting Quarterback in the nfl before.. pans out.. what are all of the haters gonna say....

why does everyone always question EVERYTHING saban does.. i have faith in the guy hes done wonders already i dont care about fins record

Agreed....what happens if he becomes a solid #2 QB, would people say this was still a bad trade.

What's worse is that some *******es here actually think that hes our future.

well that happens with every Qb fins bring in.. jay at one point.. AJ... then it started getting sad.. rosenfels.. berlin

point is every player that comes in .. this board is gonna go nuts over

fred russel last year.. more popular than anyone else on the team that was brought in as UFA

he might be the future but no one knows this yet.... mueller has a good background on starting QBS but you go through a handfull before u hit the jackpot and mueller knows gus n sage werent the future nor was AJ

Why would it be a bad thing to get a player with some upside (plus a pick) for a player that was going to be cut anyway?

I don't like the fact that we gave up a 6th round pick as part of the deal. Only reason I see why we gave up the pick and not San Diego is because of Feeley's large cap number. The biggest thing we get out of this trade is the amount of room under the cap. Lemon is not going to be our starting QB probably ever. He may never even be our 2nd string QB. I see him more like a new version of Rosenfels who will be with the team for years as the #3 guy. Most likely now, Saban and Mueller will draft a QB in either round 1 or two.

I am not very happy with the compensation we had to give up, but I am happy with the cap room this creates and the fact that another Wanny/Speilman tree falls.
